I've seen the 70s movie many times and am a huge Crichton fan. Anybody else watched the first episode? I thought it was awesome. Actually watched it twice - made more sense and had some nice moments I didn't appreciate on first viewing.

I'm bored, so let's do a Lego thread. I'm sure most of us had at least one set as a kid, some have grown to love them as adults, as the licensing has become more inclusive. We now have Lego Friends aka Legos for girls, there's DUPLO - for very young children, Technic for teens / college age kids, Mindstorms - the robotic builders line, even an architectural line I've bought as gifts for people, that also include NASA Space Vehicles. Who is a fan, what are your favorites, do you remember building them as a kid, and how limited our block selection was? lol. My friend Nick (RIP) had so many moon base floor tiles, he could cover his entire bedroom floor for sleepovers…

Lucasfilm/Disney has revealed the name of the eighth Star Wars movie: The Last Jedi Before you get up in a tizzy, remember - "Jedi" is both plural and singular, so don't think they are gonna kill Luke off (or... are they?)

Summer is (almost) here, and I need a t-shirt restock. The cool ones over at Bleep are either sold out or the wrong size. Where do you folks buy your t-shirts?

Word up, i think bikes are the best way to get around town. Faster than getting the bus because you don't have to stop every 2 minutes, faster than a car because you can just hop up onto the pavement and skip traffic lights. I love bikes, got a new one today with thin tyres just for commuting, i suppose you could call it a road bike. It's the first time riden I've ridden one and things are not going well, i've only ever ridden mountain bikes for the first 30 years of my life on earth. I thought it would be a smooth transition but i'm completely jarred by the set up of road bikes. I thought i'd take those curly handlebars in my stride but it's like learning to ride a bik…

Anyone here skateboard? Doesn't seem like something an IDM community would be big into. I've been getting back into it lately. I'm getting pretty decent at tre flips - I can't land them consistently but it's not a godsend when I do land one. Probably like 1 out of 10. (there was a thread from a few years back but is sorta sucked)

Post your latest youtube video uploads that you wish to share. You can also post not so recent vids too, who is going to know? I recently uploaded this one, and you just won't believe what happens next:

SELF EXPLANATORY, I'll start us off with some basic suggestions: Despite the seeming correlation in the title this documentary has nothing to do with 9/11. All about the 2008 financial collapse and everyone and everything that caused it to happen. Very, very interesting, at least for the subject matter, very maddening in places, and a bit too thick in information to process all in one sitting (at least for me ). A documentary that interviews and describes some of the major players of the utterly massive coke importation business in the 1970's and 80's, extremely fast paced, full of likable characters and honestly far more intriguing and enjoyable than movi…

Hi everyone, I don't know if sharing charity links may go against the rules or not ( I did not remember the rules since I read them a long time ago, if this is not ok just close the thread. When sharing these type of links check the source of legit campaings and websites of course.). Anyways I have come across some of them lately and though could be nice to bring some of the charity spirit around here, giving a helping hand to people who are in a tough situation. I have just found this campaing and I think this man and his brother are friends of Doug Lussenhop (surely most of you know the guy, he is the creator of the comedy series "Pound House"), because he posted …

been watching a lot of Big Bang Theory and it has rekindled my old geek passtime of reading comics & TPBs. there was a graphic novel thread about a year ago, but i thought the topic deserved expansion. do any readers on here still trek down to the store, or download digitally for tablets, maybe just pirate CBR files? still trying to fill in the gaps on my Jack Kirby Fourth World collection, and damn they went up in value quickly (hardcovers). it's so hard to keep up with Marvel & DC continuity, what do the fans on here read? indies, manga? recommendations welcome.
