I'm having somewhat of a hard time wrapping my head around this. You see all the time about how the financial sector and the government are conspiring for personal gain and how the middle class is being gutted, but is this in line with the globalization agenda and the growth agenda? Who is responsible for growth? I see time and time again from c-span and various youtube channels (like council on foreign relations and world economic forums) that lack of education is being blamed for lack of growth, and the general consensus is that growth needs capital accumulation in the middle, not less capital accumulation at the top, and this also reflects the free market ideology.…

hey dudes, i feel like there have been a million threads on this but i can't find any in search. i'm in amsterdam for a few days, anything essential i should do? i mean, i know you can "smoke drugs" and check out legalized ladies here, but beyond that. i saw there's a dubstep night and a dnb night on friday, might go check one of those out. at 20 eur i feel like i might have as much fun with my ipod, but maybe i'm missing the point. if anyone lives here, i'd love to buy you a pint of something that isn't heineken! love to one and all.

https://www.youtube.com/musickey http://youtube-global.blogspot.com/2014/11/youtube-music-2014.html i use spotify occasionally to preview some albums but i don't have premium subscription. i used to use rdio because i could find albums that were unavailable on spotify, but then stopped when spotify became (somewhat) the leader in streaming service. also, saves me from loading my phone with a bunch of mp3s when i just stream curious whether anyone is a big user/subscriber of streaming services and thoughts. p.s. also will be interesting to see if taylor swift approves

HELP with some headphones, please! 1 2 3

¿Are there audiophiles here? I bet there are. I need some help with some headphones I want to buy. I don't have much time now so: I want to buy these headphones (mostly cause I listen music in the bus): http://en-de.sennheiser.com/on-ear-headphones-travel-stereo-hd-239 I don't know if they're great for listening at home and outside, I want powerful bass but clear highs and envolving sound, if anyone has these or similar headphones can you tell me if they're too small? (Sorry, I have no idea about headphones) I also want to know if they're decent to make music on a PC, or if I should look for other higher-level headphones. I know Sennheiser is a good b…

Need a new PC 1 2

Hello WATMM- I need a PC that can handle a lot of 3D modeling and rendering and CAD and Revit. I have a great little macbook pro which is nice, but it doesn't run rhino (well, it runs a shitty mac version) and it certainly does't run grasshopper which I need to know and use for work. Revit doesn't exist for mac and AutoCAD is in some bullshit mac version layout which isn't the PC version argh. Now dual-booting is a thing that exists, but I have about 400 gb of music on my 500 gb hd so it wouldn't be a very functional dual boot and also fuck dual booting. Anyway, I've used macs at home my entire life, (my parents bought the first mac in 1984 - that's what i was…

Was thinking today about the ideas that underlie intellectual property. Some of the nuttier libertarian fellas argue that IP essentially constitutes a government-mandated monopoly, and thus is unfair. That is one area where I would concievably agree with them. The conventional defence of IP goes that people wouldn't bother to create anything if their creations weren't defended by law. But on this very forum you can see countless people offering their own musics with little realistic expectation of monetary gain (or expecting monetary gain through other means e.g. voluntary purchases, gigs etc). On the whole, I see people putting their own trax up not for money, but becaus…

If you do please post a screenshot or recording and let me know how you did it! Also if you have any feature requests or dislikes please inform me! I'm trying to make this as solid of a game as possible. The name align & chime is because I anticipate having notes played when the game pieces are played and when you align to win it will play them back or perhaps just play a chime! I haven't yet decided on the chime so if anyone has any ideas that would be great! Here is the link. Its a unity game so you will need unity web player to play it. http://gerfeso.x10.mx/george/Temp/Temp.html Thanks!

So... audiobooks. Great, right? But... With a normal book if you fall asleep on a given page you can start the next day from the page where you nodded off. With audio books I regularly fall to sleep or enter semi sleep state and lose track of where I am in the story. This means I have to re-listen to loads of parts again and again to pick up what I have missed and I generally have no fricking idea where I am in the story. Have geniuses invented an audiobook reader that helps you keep track? If so, what do you use? Any other tips would be appreciated. I'm almost getting sick of listening to part 11 of Inherent Vice every night and o…

Curious to see how this plays out in the movie industry, will we have Oculus theaters like 3D? Ugh Zuckerberg will make a mint no matter what.
