Never heard of this company Bitstream but there controller looks awesome. http://www.waveidea.com/en/products/bitstream_3x/ http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Bitstream3x/ Bitstream said: Bitstream 3X is the new MIDI controller from Wave Idea, available from July-August 2004, a short preview here ... i've really got no clue about sound cards at all. i recently realized i have an extremely old motherboard with integrated audio, and that might be why everything that i listen to sound bad. so i decided maybe i should pick up a nice sound card, but really, i have no idea what i'm looking for. i've seen cards with $100 price differences, and could see no real differences. i'm on a budget too, looking to spend around 50-100 dollars. i figure anything will be better than what i've got now, but yeah. any help would be awesome. also, i was looking around for some studio monitors, as i thought that might help sound quality out a bit as well, came up with these. http://m-a…

so i want to use the audio throughput function. it says in the manual to connect the mid in and out, respectively to the out and in of the input instrument, as well as the audo out to te audio in of the ms. say i want to process a waveform from tape, or vinyl, or something else without midi... can i still do this? obviously the thread title is supposed to say "korg" not "org". also, is there any way i can edit a thread title.?

Hey all I just purchased Live 5 and was wondering if any of you guys had any tips/ tricks for new users. i plan on using it to host reaktor session, Moog modulator, and reason. Hopefully i can still find that issue of computer music devoted to this software, and hopefully my tunes improve enough to one day post so y'all can have a laugh. Cheers thanks in advance for any advice.

I know nothing about analogue sequencing. I haven't the slightest idea about how any of it all works. I usually rely on very fast fingers (tee hee) and have to have several takes if I record something. If anyone has a spare bit of time to tell me the basics of sequencing, synching, MIDI, whatever - I would GREATLY appreciate it. Keep in mind I know almost nothing about MIDI either, except that it's an outlet in all my electronic boxes & it's a way for boxes to talk to each other/a virtual sequence of button-pushing. I have two microKORGs & a DR-202 that I think may have some relevance. I like the idea of programming everything into a box (like an MC-4!) an…

Bit more chilled out this one. Sorry about the quality - was a WAV file converted to WMA (don't ask me why) converted to MP3 and it seems to have made the snate a bit glitchy......on second thoughts, it sounds kinds cool...Anyway, see what you think! Comments always appreciated as usual. Bukka Nukka. Sorry, made the SNARE a bit glitchy. The snate sounds Ok to me......

Having massive problem

How do all these drum n bass producers get their breaks sounding so nice and massive, covering the the entire freq range so nicely? Is it all just EQ, compression and overlaying other samples? There must be some trade secrets in this dept. A lot of the samples I have sound very tinny, so I usually get a 909/808 BD and stick them under the original breaks BDs, that adds kick, but the rest of the break still sounds poo. I think I might be going along the right lines, maybe I just need practice? For instance i know that the for best type of drums for d'n'b, the BD sould have a little high end, and the snare a little mid range etc... Any guidance would be gosh darn…

Ers Drums

Anyone use this? I just started using it today after only using it once before and as far as I can tell its pretty low on cpu usage (I'm using 333mhz PC too!!). Its pretty neato. Each sound has its own output so you can insert whatever fx you want in them and the latest version has MidiLearn and cc values. I don't think the version I've got you can control cc values. Pretty phat piece of software me thinks. :shade: http://www.bostreammail.net/ers/ersdrums.html

Hardware: Yamaha CS6x Roland Juno-106 (Workhorse synth) Roland TR-626 (Bent) Korg ES-1 (Fantastic sampler for a budget) Behringer 12 Channel Mixer (Noisy as fuck. Stay the fuck away from Behringer :getlost: ) Software: Renoise (MIDI controller and breaks) ReCycle Soundforge (Mastering) I want to add a hardware reverb for the Juno and some more vintage stuffs (606, some older SH model synths). Also, a Mackie 1604 looks to be in line for purchase as well. And who doesn't want a 303?

Should I do it? I'm pretty confident I could build it, I'm very handy with a soldering iron, and I'm an EE major. Is this thing worth it for $340? What is your opinion on it? They're never ever on ebay, does that mean a lot of satisfied customers?
