a portuguese design firm is using a track i did for project 168 on their website... kinda neat, especially since they (a) used the entire track and (B) didn't compress the shit out of it. www.thefuszion.com

I got a message on myspace inviting me to this: http://www.emergenza.net/document/book/iscri.asp If in fact it IS real, they would help set up a live show for Earvalve at the local venue. If it's fake, I probably get a whole bunch of shit charged to my name that I didn't buy. Reasons I'm skeptical: 1) I only have one song on myspace and I never really actively participate in the myspace community. 2) I'm skeptical of everything on the internet that wants my name & phone number. Is this thing real?

i just bought a years worth of hosting and a domain from dreamhost for about $13AUD (which is a very, very good price in my opinion) i'm going to host my music on it once i get dreamweaver learnt and sorted, only i cannot think of a design for it! so, what do you guys think would be best for a music webpage? a simple site with nothing but text links? massive flash things? a CMS of some sort? i honestly can't decide/don't know so help me out here please the site is http://www.1kbmusic.net - at the moment it has some mp3s on it which you can listen to if you want but i'm not too worried about that (if this doesnt belong in EKT feel free to move it)

Two States - Independent Debut Album Release
by Guest walding- 1 reply

My name is Luke Walding and I've just finished my debut record at the end of last year with my collaborator Mark Ludwig. I thought I'd share this with this forum because alot of the artists discussed around here were inspirational for myself when I was programming synths. Long story short is that there is a website up at www.two-states.com where you can download the single free of charge from our site. The remaining tracks will cost $1.50 AUD if you want to grab those. Here is a brief excerpt from our Bio to explain a little further: This original recording has embraced the collaboration, encompassing a hybrid of digital and analogue technologies, marrying an…

ground this!
by Guest monotoo- 5 replies

all right, all right. yes i'm new, but i have an important question about grounding a set of turntables. the dj mixer has two grounds on it, one for each table. however, my shanty house IS NOT GROUNDED. well, about 95% of it at least. so! does this mixer still ground on its own? or does it need to be plugged into an outlet that is grounded as well? [also, what are the hazards of not grounding/grounding improperly? i know it can fry your table/s but i'm still curious]-----thanks oh yea, read the rules

I would like to mail out some demos to the corporate bigwigs to pursue my goal of becoming a career musician. This question is basically directed at anyone who's heard my music and knows what labels would publish something of that nature. I don't even know where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated. No netlabels please, I plan on staying loyal to Retropublik for my net releases. Thanks, Wes

Help With NI Battery Automation
by Guest brokephones- 2 replies
- 1.2k views
I am trying to automate Battery via Digital Performer but have been having little luck. The main problem is that the manual I have for Battery has no mention of how to set up automation on an individual cell level. I want to do something basic such as assign a midi controller knob to the panning of a specific cell. Can someone please explain how to set up automation on the cellular level either when used as a slave to another app or just in standalone mode?

[salespitch] just picked this up today for 20 canadian pretty good stuff here, comes with a cd-rom with ableton tutorials and samples and effect and instrument presets i went through some of the tutorials on my friends computer and i must say learnt a lot more than i have in the past, reading the tutorials that came with the program.... the tutorials are like : build a track, make a mashup, dj with live .. all that good stuff and i'd highly recommend for people that have the demo or haven't used it that much other than playing around or if you are like myself, only used it rewired to reason to play off samples anyway, this mag is tops, and has some other inter…

Best way to sequence beats on ableton
by Guest jamesy boy!- 1 reply
- 1.4k views
How many of you ableton users actually use impulse or whatever the drum machine in live is? When I use Reason to slice and sequence beats, First I would use ReCycle to slice the loop, then load the rx2 patch up into the NN-XT sampler and sequence on that, worked well, but now I really have to move onto live and want to know the best way to cut and sequence beats on ableton.

hello everyone. i'm setting up an online magazine and am looking for people's creativity to feature in it. if any of you would like to submit your designs, photos, illustrations, poems, short stories for inclusion, please send a link or a contact sheet of your stuff. (please keep attachmenst under 2 meg. ta!) the work will remain under your copyright and will feature links to your site on the page it appears. this is *not* a commercial venture, it's a privately funded art project, and as such there will be no fees of any kind. it is however, something for an undernourished CV... long term plans include the possibility of an mp3 for download. the systems for this a…

http://www.buzzle.de/ seeing as the buzz sourcecode is lost forever, this guy is reworking it from the ground up. a (sort of stable) beta release is out now. i had a fool about with it, and fucked with some of the demo songs. only crashed once when i tried to do a pile of things at once (but buzz does that too). it seems pretty cool - more one to watch than one to try and write with at this point though, i guess.
