crossfade vst
by Guest greenbank- 3 replies

does anyone know if there is a crossfade VST that can be loaded in pairs and that works by running 2 instances together to allow a crossfade between all the channels you have running through to crossfade VST part1 and all the channels you have going into VST part2? i'm not sure if it's easily possible to have communication between instances of VSTs to allow such linking up as would be necessary. err i hope i explained that well enough. basically i need something that can be inserted as a send and allow crossfading between multiple channels at once and i think it has to be implemented as i described unless i didn't think of some way its possible in one VST only.

star ratings in ylc
by Guest ~ism- 5 replies
- 1.2k views
wouldn't it be a good idea if people used the new thread star ratings as a quick tool for passing thought on tracks posted in ylc? as in, if everyone gave the thread a rating of 1-5 stars after having listened to the track contained therein it would offer a quick eye guide to anyone coming into ylc - showing the tracks that have received most positive response from the general 'watmm publik'. not as a element of competition of course...just an aid in seeing if there are any great tracks that one might have missed, but plenty of others have good things to say about. shit idea? we would of course have to add a 6th star option for wisp tracks. :tongu…

Hello, I want to give my tracks some gentle compression and bring up the overall volume to it's maximum I have T-racks but I'm a bit confused: what's the difference between the Compressor and a Soft-clipping stage? and is it best to use T-racks in an audio editor (peak for example) or in a sequencer (ableton) thanks oh, I'm on mac

I have a half dozen mp3s at varying bitrates that are to be used on an upcoming release. Unfortunately these mp3s are all I have left of these 6 or so tracks. Most of them are 128...with a couple that are 256. Would it be completely destructive to re-encode all of them at 320? I just think a release with mp3s at varying bitrates looks sloppy, but at the same time I don't want to degrade the quality of the tracks just for the sake of keeping things consistent. If there is a 'safe'/'non destructive" way to re-encode these tracks, then please let me know. Thanks folks. loafeye

EQ and Reverb
by Guest meneedit- 6 replies

Hello. I'm gonna need to download a few things before the year is out so I can make some kick-ass music over christmas. Anyways, nobody on other sites have been able to help me so I thought I'd give you guys a shot. I'm after: 1. A 32-band EQ for fruity loops but it has to be like the 7-band in that you can simply right-click on knobs and edit events. 2. A reverb that can do the following things: -Specify which channel the reverb comes out -Humanize the reverb -Maintain bass frequencies. In English, i'm after a good reverb as opposed to the thousands of reverbs out there that are the same and really crap. and I will pay for the reverb if …

Cubase ASIO
by Guest Cyanescens- 1 reply

I just got an audio interface (M-Audio Firewire Solo) and Im trying to record myself. But after I installed all the drives and bullshit, I open up Cubase, and there isnt sound coming in... Eventually I got it so I could record sound, but then, no sound would come from Cubase. Like, I could record, and information was being recorded, but when I tried to play it back, it wouldnt play. And when I record it, sound isnt traveling into my monitors. Does anyone know what I have to do to my ASIO sound settings so this problem can be resolved? Cyanescens for anyone that leads me to the answer!
