Hanging with a mate today, and he was spinning Every Day as I walked in "you realize this record is 20 years old right?" Jeez time flies, the turning point of the AFX sound, hard to find then, and little known, no internets to scour. My local import record shop couldn't even find a listing, much less understand the title I was looking for. I think it was released October correct? At least part 1. (I realize Every Day is part 2 before the peanut gallery corrects me)

Aphex Twin will perform at Funkhaus in Berlin on Thursday, November 1st. Richard D. James announced his first Berlin gig in 15 years via Twitter this morning. It'll go down at Funkhaus, a former GDR radio broadcasting centre that mostly hosts large, high-profile events. There will be a show at 8 PM, when James will be joined by a "special guest," and an afterparty at 11 PM, all in the same complex.

I got this at my local library about 30 minutes ago and I'm listening to it right now for the first time. The first track is fantastic, I hope the rest of this CD is on par.

uh, the guy who did the Streets of Rage soundtrack and some other stuff I thought of this because I know he's been known to steal/borrow/be influenced by whatever music he was into at the time, the first Streets of Rage is known to take from a lot of 90's DANCE HITS (supposedly the main theme is a rip of Sadeness by Enigma). So some time a while back I finally got to try the third game and the music seemed to make absolutely no sense, it was really techno but on cheap speakers it just sounded like a bunch of noise. I downloaded a rip of the soundtrack and it makes a lot more sense with a subwoofer/etc. I dunno, I think a lot of the tracks sound like early AFX/Caustic …

Beyond the Sepia Cliffs Some might call it nostalgia, others a rightful homage. But when that time strikes near, when the subconscious needs play And when the day is half spent, and the sun barely gazes through clouds I want those waves, those pulsing 808 currents compressed under a London fog. Aliens may have come and gone. Or may have just arrived. This is the music that answers that query And if you listen hard enough, those grainy open hh's might reveal the X-Files of Cornwall. I want to ride that electric riptide. Go beyond digital. See what's behind those cliffs. Because there are stories of life And stories upon stories in buildings upon buildings…

klopjob vs crying in your face where's your girlfriend vs i'm self employed If he just released an album it wouldn't come to this. I pair these tracks together like so because they're similar and often think which I like more, and can't decide. I am wondering what the general consensus is.

Anyone got this on mp3? It's that secret track (up there with the best of the rare tracks like Cunt and Phlaps) off the Select audio cassette compilation.

I know many will disagree with me but I think he still hasn't been surpassed ( people have tried to copy him, yes, but even though he hasnt released much in the past 5 years ( barring Chosen Lords). I think his combination of chaos and beauty is something no one else can get quite near. ( Im talking about the overall package-beats-melody etc.. not just one or the other). His legend hasnt faded whatsover, most other artists could not get away with that. Anyways, just my thoughts..

As in 'aphexing' or 'to aphex' something. My friend recently described stabbing a shark in the eyeballs while listening to breakcore and he said it was called 'aphexing'... ?

PROOF (POSSIBLY) THAT HEORGE GARRSISON IS THE ACTUAL APHEX. Maybe not Drukqs 2.0 as alluded to by the title, but at least Steinvord continued. (Which IMO was a Drukqs 1.5) https://youtu.be/0YIT9JSMqIo?t=944

I'm curious. I remember him mentioning a track of his from the soundclown dump was in his 'top 10' favorites of his own track. It was definitely made in the 90s or even late 80s. And I know "syro u473t8+e" is his favorite off Syro as he mentioned it in YT comments a few years after the album came out, I'd say around 2016 or 2017. When the album was new however, he said his fav off the album was "earth portal". So obviously his opinion changed over time. Curious to know what other tracks he's said are his favorites. In general, not like in countdown format.

Source of astronomical data (birth day, hour): track LORNADEREK of DRUQKS «(…) because you were born about 5 o’clock in the morning (…) » The trio ascendant (Leo)/Sun sign (Leo)/1st house deals with a powerful creative force and Venus introduces a shade of music making (Venus symbolizing the voice) and gives a sense of emotional beauty to what is created; there is probably more of his voice in his music than it is possible to imagine, in more or less disguised forms (sampling, distortion, coding, etc). Venus also deals with one’s own image projected outside, in a certain way the ability to seduce, convince, grab attention; in this sense it is curious to notice the pl…

Off the upbeat, non-piano tracks on the album, this track sounds different. It's like it was made on a different gear, the production just sounds different, if you compare it to the rest. It's hard to put it in words but I do notice it. I always thought this track doesn't really fit on there, even if it's a great track.

Been fighting asking this question for a while but does anyone know what desk(s) Rich had in Lannerlog or Clissold? My reasons for asking are two fold: 1. I'm an insufferable turbo nerd and fanatic 2. I need a new desk and want to know as a type of anti-GAS reality check. I'm pretty sure the mixers weren't that fancy and I love those records to bits. Therefore hopefully inspiring me to stop looking at mixers I can't afford or fit in my room. Cheers Bobby x
