Was listening to the Field Day album in a plane with one Old Fashioned in-a-can in me and that album and Mike & Rich definitely feel like *alcohol* albums. SAW2 definitely feels like an LSD album. I feel like Syro could be either a weed album or a MDMA album. SOSW is either LSD or MDMA. Come To Daddy feels like a weed album … Anyway, what are your thoughts on this very important topic??

I see that a Limited Edition Collapse EP I have MINT is worth like $10 crap I just want to throw it away now.. Then you take a look at SYRO Limited Edition Vinyl is worth $2000 minimum and Drukqs is around $500 So how you know what to look for when a new Aphex release gets out? Will this new EP limited edition get valuable in the future or is it gonna stay $10-30?

This definitely isn't MFM and I'm guessing that whatever that 33 day countdown is leading us to, this isn't it. There's some really good stuff here, but I wouldn't call it a new proper album. The longest track is 4:00 or so. This seems like some odds and ends, some of which are very nice. Track 5 is an ambient little thing with birds in the background. Track 11 sounds like it could be a SAW II reject. Track 6 is the track he's been teasing along with the Weirdcore video effects - a frustratingly short version.

as far as I’m concerned at this point the Aphex Twins are: Richard D. James and Weirdcore. The reigning, defending, audio visual tag team champions of the world. But in all seriousness this guy’s album artwork, music videos and especially the visuals provided at the live shows are a big part of current gen ‘Phex in my opinion.

sequencer circa Come to Daddy 1 2

Listening to flim for the first time in a couple of years got me thinking about how tracks around this time were sequenced. I remember seeing a live pic a while back showing rdj using an MPC 60 for his live shows, was this around 97? cant find it now. Would be interested to know, as some of the tracks sequencing gets pretty complex to achieve on an MPC 60.

Never having been a huge fan of acid techno, though always a fan of AFX, I have been unnecessarily dismissive of the Analord series. I listened to volumes 1 through 5 with all the extra tracks in one sitting while cooking on Sunday and I have to say that it is amazing! Any other latecomers to the Analord party out there?

Hi! Is there a thread anywhere that brings together all the different interviews and press releases that Aphex Twin (under his various aliases) has given? I had a brief look in the archives and the closest I could find was a broken link to a .doc file. Magazine scan-ins would be preferable as it's less likely they've been mistranscribed. I only ask because seeing his April 1993 interview with Future Music in another thread here a while back is partly responsible for me getting back to my "sample all the things!" roots, helping me shed that unhelpful gear lust and rekindling even more of my early passion for music making. That and I'm working on an article chart…

I know this is probably blasphemy to post this here as we all know it's an amzing piece of art BUT I'm just totally falling in love with it past few days. You know when you sort of don't bother listening to something as much as you ''know it'' so well and sort of ''know'' it's amazing but then come back to it and realise it's actually more than what you thought. What struck me yesterday is just how amazingly subtle all the arragement changes are but also how sort of playful those decisions are. Like it's kind of childlike in it's execution of automation etc - a bit cheeky but also so conciously arranged. Just stunning. I love the acid transition to Green C…

I recently listened to Drukqs for like the 30th time and I can honestly say this album is a classic. There is nothing like it. I wish Aphex Twin would release something like this again, it's just so good. This LP has just left all sanity, it pushes you back and takes you on a wild and crazy ride. But yet it is still melodic in it's own chaos. It's the harmony in chaos. Sorry if this thread is out of the blue or pretentious, I just love this album so much. It also introduced me to a new realm of music. That's all I wanted to say...

Forum member XF and a few other folks have put together an AMAZING voting page for the SoundCloud tracks!
