Autechre Intro to Autechre
by Guest tbio2007- 21 replies

I just moved into Uni and I'm living with the trademark NME indie fan, how can I get him onto Autechre? I've made a disk which I think covers there work well, not to progessive, not to ambient and is around the same length as one of their albums. 1) Kalpol Intro 2) Bike 3) Basscadet 4) Yulquen 5) Dael 6) Second Bad Vibel 7) Pen Exps (Confield) 8) LCC 9) Track number 5 of Untiltled, I forget what it is called. What do you think?

Listen to the clip of dael and tell that there isn't a cut up vocal phrase saying... You give it away, you get way, way down All i'm playing is the bass synth line from "Dael" as it evolves throughout the song, with the added the vocal part. Let me know what you think and i'll share my other covers in the process of recording them. I'm also working on covers like "Second Scepe" and "Laughing Quarter".

Gescom and somethin very close to Lucid Dreaming
by Guest Babar- 9 replies

Ae rythm sections are fractal, you can find out a rythm among this mess, but there is always A sound wich doesnt fit. As i was neraly sleeping by listening to gescom's minidisc (ramdomly obviously), it was quite hypnotizing, but there was always a fucking sound staving me off from slumber. And I got in a very hypnogogic state of mind, and i started to have those visual perceptions you have before sleeping. Then i saw colours, then shapes. On a sudden, i felt a great frisson like those you have when you become lucid. From this moment on, i could see all the instruments and effects, in proper substances, colors and movments=ama-zing. Arglllll ! i look forward to listen…

Autechre Andover(Autechre) on Not For Piano by Francesco Tristano

Just bought this off Bleep - it's blooming lovely - wondered what the connection, if there is one, with Ae is? It's very autechre - notes (musical ignorance kicking in heavy here) like Drone (peel session) or Pule (chiastic slide). . not sure if it's a cover of Drone or a new composition or a homage or what. Recommend it though. Anyone like that new gescom record? I'll start the ball rolling by saying I'm not sure what I think about it - on one hand I find it dull and lifeless - and on the other I think 'Hey! This is like using creating a manic drumfield that works less as a spinal ridge upon which other things are hung and more as a wood-blinding exercise through a…

anyone think i'd need permission from warp or the guys of ae to cover songs by them on the guitar and make a myspace profile to get the music heard? i'm could see if i had a cd made of the songs getting their permission would be necessary because of royalties, and filling out an intellectual property rights form to get their attention but, the songs are only going to be on myspace. what should i do? maybe contact warp or what? joyrex, if you're reading this post, i know i still owe you bigtime but, i'm paying debts and shit but, my cd is scheduled for a release date in november. i got digipaks made and the art looks rad. thanks jr. i'm gonna have to get you to d…

Envane... the song?
by Guest Angler- 10 replies

A friend of mine downloaded EP7 and it came with not only the import only hidden track, but a very strange track called "Envane" (seemingly unrelated to anything on the EP of the same name) with little rhythm but a lot of interesting synth work that's similar in texture to much of the other synth work on LP5 and EP7. Anyone know where this track came from? 12._Envane.mp3

Autechre AUTECHRE LIVE AT LIVE EARTH WEMBLEY!!!!
by Guest Larry David- 23 replies
- 3.3k views
They're jetting into Heathrow and being driven in a Range Rover Sport to Wembley for a live performance- projected on four giant 50 ft Plasma screens with a full laser light show and a phazon 100MW sound system!!! :omg: God i wish that they were mainstream sometimes......but then i look at the self indulgent tossers who actually do the above in the name of 'Energy Conservation' and remember it's them that we should be fighting against ... Sorry...couldn't resist a moan....but if u actually believed the thread header then i'd think again at how much you know/like Autechre!!

Autechre Dating tracks inside an Ae album
by Guest milivella- 19 replies
Can anyone put the date (one relatively to the others) on the tracks of an Autechre album? E.g. "This track on Amber is the latest in order of composition because it is the most similar to Trirepetae". Only one note: I know that they could begin a track, then do another one, then complete the first one. Or review the entire album before releasing it. But maybe this doesn't happen every time, or we can anyway find the date of a particular idea inside a track. milivella

i'm not a huge ae fan. i listen to them once in a great while and find some of their releases unlistenable. that being said, i just listened to EP7 for the first time in ages and remembered why i thought it was such a great album long ago. and how awesome is Outpt? i love that track. Ccec is pretty great too.

Hello all.. this is my first post here. Not sure if any of your recognize my name but i was one of the founding members of the electronic music list many years ago.. I was just going through my old emails trying to find something and i came across a slew of emails from the mid-90's... I had totally forgotten about how i was served papers from Warp's lawyers regarding a website i had put up in 1997 with all the rare Autechre tracks.. then after a long battle i ended up releasing a 5 disc set to electronic music list members containing every non album/ep track from Autechre including the rarest stuff they ever did on vinyl. I still physically own every single tra…

So I was thinking, most artists have a manifesto, you know, some sort of message of substance they want to get across to people. So they create art. Ok, so what are Autechre trying to convey with their music... Is it beautiful sounds from synthetic sources? intricate programming for props? a drastic evolution of composition rules? Is deliberate randomness part of the appeal? Is it triggering subconscious responses (boc lolz)...? I'm not sure myself but I know it (confield esp) can just click completely on occasion and other times completely miss the mark. Can't quite understand why though..

Autechre First time you heard Ae live 1 2
by Guest Luke- 32 replies

Anyone remember the first time they heard Autechre live? I went to see them at Zoo in Manchester in 2005 and bear in mind I hadn't heard Untilted at that point and didn't have a clue what they were like live... I was expecting them to play a variation of tracks from all their albums and for the tempo to be fairly calm... it's safe to say I got the shock of my life. My girlfriend at the time was actually scared.
