Auditory hallucination-esque moments in Ae 1 2 3 4

Obviously the Ae boys make very subtle music, and (as they themselves have noted) tend to attract a lot of detail-oriented listeners. So I'm curious if anyone else has kept mental note of any subtle / borderline subliminal shit going on in Ae tracks that you think might be worth sharing. This isn't (intentionally) about really pedantic, boring stuff--but about surprising musical / sonic details that you maybe thought you had to be imagining until you listened to the track in question again. (The basic assumption is just that it's fun to find out about interesting things that we might've missed--especially in music as ingenious as Ae's.) I'm mainly thinking of how …

Forgot to put Exai in the title but do I really need to clarify this? FLeure: Totally nuts, like a tiny robot on crack. Starts to sound like a farty mine. It's like you stumbled upon Exai and this is you falling into its' cavernous depths. irlite(get 0): very untilted. Noisy and chaotic as all hell for the first half. Then we get all serious and break out of the noise with these piano stabs. Then some crazy sonic the hedgehog style synths come in and plink around for a while. Good fun track, not too serious. Gets very dramatic in the second half, lots of space. Civilizations used to live down here a long time ago. Nice and evil bass line in the last few minutes. …

It is with great excitement that we announce the participation of Autechre (æ) at Terraforma 2021 . The prominent Warp Records duo has carved the history of electronic music for the past three decades and have recently revealed their latest album “Sign”. Autechre’s music has exhibited a gradual shift in aesthetic throughout their career, from their earlier work with clear roots in techno, electro and hip hop to later albums that are often considered more experimental in nature, featuring complex patterns of rhythm and subdued melodies. Their live experience is a classically pitch-dark mind-warping audio affair, which has undoubtedly reached an i…

Anyone aware of any sets/recordings similar to the Domino set? Been listening to this set a lot (especially after a few drinks); strikes me as white hot and atypical of other output. Especially parts 2 and 3 in the YouTube chop.

Re-listening now on big speakers - that EP is a god damn masterpiece. And Keynell/Keynell on Warp is right there with it. Lately I've mostly been focusing on Exai and elseq, but holy shit these tracks are good.

Hi, sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum section but I will be streaming me playing Autechre's music in the game Audiosurf 2 on Twitch today and tomorrow: https://www.twitch.tv/venisonsneers from 6pm to 9pm GMT. I am playing through the whole of Autechre's back catalogue including the live sets. Today I will be playing the second half of Incunabula, Basscadet EP and the Anti EP. I started yesterday with Lego Feet, Cavity Job and the first half of Incunabula (I forgot to make a post here telling everyone, sorry you missed the start). For those that don't know, AS2 is a game a bit like Wipeout where it generates tracks you fly along based on the music you lo…

Try setting aside your personal opinion about Autechre's music for a while and consider them in a larger cultural context. That is, how much you either like or dislike Exai or Oversteps, how relevant do you think Autechre are as a musical phenomenon today? The release of Exai hardly had the flare of Tomorrow's Harvest when it was released, but then again, BoC have always appealed to a larger crowd. New artist come and take the spotlight, some stay and some quickly fade away, but I'm wondering if a new release from Autechre these days still has as much of a cultural impact as, say, Tomorrow's Harvest has had recently. In their IDM hayday together with Aphex Twin an…

While this is a obviously a rather broad question considering the fact that over the years S&R have produced a seriously eclectic catalogue of material... I am curious what other fans might have to say as I was personally asked this a few days ago and am still turning it over in my mind.

So, in an effort to distract people away from all this leak gayness at the moment, I'm making a dedicated tour thread. Specifically I'm curious as to the sound of their new live material. Assuming they've made a new set of course! I don't think they'll be following a more ambient vibe with the new set, but here are the questions in my mind: Will this be completely new material? Will it follow suit with the previous tours and have elements from the albums? Will it be machine drum/monomachine again? Will it just be a modified Quaristice tour? Will it have a patch on the previous two sets? Will there be a twat preventing a soundboard recording being taken again…
