I was browsing through the huge collection of autechre bootlegs here on watmm and was curious what autechre themselves thought about it....does anyone have any interviews where they talk about about live recordings and the like?

WIRE mage and SOS should both get off their arses and have AUtechre on the cover with brilliant interviews.. I remember where i was when the last Wire Autechre cover came out. Amsterdam, and it wasnt that easy to find a shop that had it, i was only there for a day and spend a bit of my time trying to find the mag so i could read it on my way back home in Australia

Im listening to it now and I say its still weak piss.. . certainly one of the most lackluster AE releases.. . have the drugs finally run their course? or is this simply a case of trying to inject life into a corpse? I dont think they've said anything to verify this but I still get the impression that Untilted was a collection of old or possibly unfinished tracks that they "polished up" to make a new album.. . and I put "polished up" in quotation marks because I also feel that the mixing of this album is fucking atrocious in comparison with efforts like Confield and some of Draft 7.30. ..

So I don't believe a thread has been made about this yet, the gents are doing another radio broadcast on www.autechre.ws on Feb 23rd from 20:00 GMT on. Think it's gonna be another long eclectic DJ session or maybe some unreleased material? Looking forward to it either way, any volunteers to record?

I do love this album but as some people have mentioned its like a mish mash of parts over the years. It got me thinking about the Black Dog's -Music for Adverts, because that seemed to have half finished ideas etc.. Maybe this is the closest we have come to hearing Sean and Robs solo works? This is strangely the most un Autechre album they have released to date yet it is also AUtechre in every way.

whaddya think? I love the good ol' US of A, but having lived in China for two years (which incidentally seems to operate pretty well without 'representative democracy' and all that jazz), I feel kind of removed from the whole process. Is Barack as full of empty rhetoric as they say? I liked McCain before he seemed to jump on the Bush war-wagon, does he have anything to recommend him? Is he at least fiscally conservative? Edit: lol, wrong forum. Can put in genbanter plz?

After listening to it intently through headphones I can hear the hum of a soundboard during some of tracks endings. Also, the way in which a lot of the tracks are abrupt in start and ending makes me think they grabbed their most inspired bits to form this release. A LOT of these tracks seem to be improvised noodlings with just enough going on to make them interesting. It doesn't feel like they worked these tracks overin a studio environment. just my opine. Quaristice = Quarantine (A condition of enforced isolation)

Typed up by me... Autechre's reputation for singularly intense electronica precedes them. No other alumnus of Warp's "Artificial Intelligence" albums, not even Aphex Twin, has sustained a trajectory of such relentless experimentation. The working methods of Autechre's Sean Booth and Rob Brown are closely guarded, but their music's teeming textures and structures suggest specially tweaked software and gigantic sound libraries, with both elements subject to some unseen forces of chance and chaos. Their reputation for sonic extremity can be somewhat overstated; their music also functions as a supremely forceful crowd mover in live situations, and steely shards of Old…

i have a friend who works at a local record store and he brought home a copy of quaristice last night. we listened to it while we watched blue planet deep sea creature dvds. it's decent. it's no draft, but its no confield either. it has this weird o9 feeling. also, there are actual drum patterns you can pick out in the music. we;re not talking about full on breakbeats, but instead of almost seemingly random programming, it seems that they try to take a more traditional approach to sequencing i guess. i dunno, i need to listen to it more.

So the anticipation for Quaristice and Rook's infectious Ae pumping have got me rummaging back through their discography, and I'm hooked on this corking ep again. I couldn't find a thread already singing its praises, so I guess it's high time. Laughing Quarter and Draun Quarter, two of Ae's best tracks. And, I notice, almost absent or entirely absent from the "omg what are your favorite ae tracks??" threads. Is this Ae's most underappreciated ep? I know it gets some love, but seriously, it's epic. Part of ae's most fertile period imo (Chiastic Slide - EP7)

That synth at the beggining, it reminds me of some of the music from Terminator 2... can't pin point it exactly, but I think it was a theme that came up several times when T-1000 was being all meanie-like. Anyone else hear that?

How messed up and weird is that Autechre Myspace page? Does anyone know any layout codes for a strange Myspace profile? I'd like to mess my boring Myspace up a bit and confuse the very few people that visit it.
