mine: what influences are involved for you to make an album like untilted? are you affected by the world going around you (say politically) when you make these tracks?
-
Ok, all you awtecker freaks... I've got Confield, LP5, and Untilted and must say that Confield is a masterwork, however Ipacial section has got to be by favorite track especially the drum work at the end that sounds like you are travelling thru an asteroid belt and dodging laser shot from a pursuing tie fighter. Please reccomend me some simillar work or perhaps a high quality live set. Thanks in advance.

Autechre 9 year old SOS interview
by Guest ~ism- 5 replies

interesting interviewery aye, so well old - but just for anyone that hadn't read it. Apart from the typos and giving the album the wrong fucking name, it's quite good. Sorry for all those that have seen this a million times - I'd only read the 02/03 SOS interview, post Draft. Found it when i was researching stuff for a Clavia Nord article I need to write.

...under-rated. Everybody raves about Chiastic's masterpiece, Cichli, but damn people are forgetting what is the best opening of an Autechre album (yes over Kalpol Intro). It's like they both are telling you in 1996 : "So you thought that electronic music was only pling-plongs?". Tonal ranges are just  Other underrated tracks? 444. Dropp. Doctrine. Yulquen. Iera. Corc.

found this 34 track excursion through Ae's back catalogue. pretty much between "garbage" and "gantz_graf". quite a nice, crunchy selection indeed with some interesting mixing.... http://cypher-musik.net/Sanf-Ae34mx68.zip just noticed this is from '04 so maybe not news.... news to me, though.

Autechre Next Autechre tangent. . .

I've been musing over the 'history' of Autechre and looking at how their sound changes album-per-album (yes, sad and yes, geeky). Obviously they've been in the very dense glitch phase since Confield and I feel that with Untilted that sound has reached its logical conclusion. Do you guys think they'll plod away at the glitch-storm sound or try something unexpected? The way I see it is that hundreds, nay thousands, of people with laptops and music software are churning out heaps of Autchre style electronica except without the same quality of programming and sound and these imitators are in danger of eroding the style -if you see what I mean? I sort of hope that Ae…

http://rapidshare.de/files/31384105/turbic_lairn.mp3.html A friend I know in real life uploaded this, he claims to be in email contact with a friend of a friend who works at warp or something, I don't know what to say. Sounds confieldish but with more melody... damn, I can swear I hear something that sounds like screechy unoiled-door-like whine of buffer override, though. shit, I hope not. The track is titled "Turbic Lairn"... a pretty standard Autechre track title. The album tag been labeled "WIPsdds", which either just means "work in progress now let's hit 4 random keys on the keyboard", or that's the actual title of the album. Sounds Autechre-ish to me, but the bu…

http://brainwashed.com/h3o/pipeline.html "work also begins before you can turn around on the next installment of the enthralling collaboration 'twixt h3o and those likely lads Autechre. this will be brought forth in the light of day by Die Stadt. when ready. this should make the previous two glow again with renewed ardour, and provide a couple of answers, but many, many more questions." Didn't like the first two much but we shall see...

Autechre AE tracklist suggestions please
by Guest Kibreg- 4 replies
- 1.5k views
Looking to make a comp of AE's stuff since 95-ish (the Anvil/Garbage/Tri Rep era and beyond). 80 min max, remixes by AE are ok, and the tracklist should include Eutow. This cd will be primarily for the car, so beats are encouraged - none of the wandering abstract ambient stuff. Autechre to drive fast to is the idea. If I knew Autechre backwards and forwards I'd be ok, but I don't - hence the request for help from those who know better. Suggestions?

Hi! Does anyone have autechre photos from old gigs around 1996-1997.(Tri Repetour, 1996-02-15 - Austria - Vienna - Flex, 1997-03-28 - Germany-Berlin - Volksbühne, Boat Race, 1997-12-28 - UK-England-London - Blech) I'm looking these photos to see what equipment they used on live around 1996-1997. May be anyone knows? I have only one photo from "Boat Race". I recognize on this photo sequencer Alesis MMT-8 only.

well... it makes about as much sense as 'what if autechre were girls' if they were children they'd be smaller and noisier than normal people, and they wouldn't write great musics because they would have to do their homework and shit instead. but they would probably like the phantom menace, including jar-jar binks.

autechere is a program not people-
by Guest osoloco69- 8 replies

I have heard from the guys at the sci-fi network that autechere is a program invented by AFX in the '90s and thats why the autechere Max patches are all randomized. The guys who babysit the Autechere Program also work in the government lab that holds the living remains of elvis in a glass enclosure for AFX to play with...where do you think he got the rubber johnny idea? To think that AFX wrote the Autechere program and also programmed the animatronic keith richards that currently tours with the rolling stones, that man is a genius.

If I'm correct, Sean & Rob are releasing a new album every 16-18 months the last few years. This means we can expect an album at the end of this year. Will this be preceded with an ep? Or maybe a single? What do you think/expect? And what will it sound like? I hope something is being announced soon; anything about what they're currently doing, if they're in the studio recording, etc. Discuss!

http://afxlive.watmm.com/autechre/audio/19...l%20-%20mp3.zip Madness....what is up with Pen Expers (track 01) here? The melodies are very un-Ae....I dig it, but it's bizarre. Sounds like they were listening to some promotional 1980's Olympics music or something lol
