http://afxlive.watmm.com/autechre/audio/19...l%20-%20mp3.zip Madness....what is up with Pen Expers (track 01) here? The melodies are very un-Ae....I dig it, but it's bizarre. Sounds like they were listening to some promotional 1980's Olympics music or something lol

My borther cleared out the front bedroom in our house there the other day. He threw a load of stuff in to a black sack to be thrown out. I thought I better poke my head in to it and make sure he wasn't being too hasty, seeing as there seemed to be some of my stuff in it. I went through it anyway......nothing major, until I found an old tape of his that he was throwing away..... Artificial Intelligence - 1993 - Promotional Use Only :omg: What the hell was he thinking???

Autechre Draft 730 : "Theme of a Sudden Roundabout"

Firstly, hi to everyone, I'm new. Ok, I first got into Autechre years ago by downloading some of their tracks off kazaa or some rubbish prog like that, which subsequently got me into the entire genre of electronic music. However, one of the first tracks I downloaded was titled "Theme of a Sudden Roundabout", which I always thought was a strange track as it didn't really coincide with the rest of the music I had downloaded. It wasn't until I bought my own copy of Draft 730 I realised that it had been mis-titled (the downloaded song). However, I do recall really liking the track regardless of it seeming out-of-place with the rest of the stuff I had got. I wa…

Autechre Which Autechre EP should I buy first? 1 2

Except Anvil Vapre and Garbage (which are included in Tri Repetae++), which EP should I buy first? I have Incunabula, Amber and Tri Repetae++ so far and I must say that Autechre is really awesome. I'm gonna buy all their LPs, of course, but I want suggestions about their EPs, please. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone remember the "Chiastic Slide" tour? Did they ever play live in 1997? If they did, where and when? Maybe anyone has got it recorded?

Surely some people here might find this interesting... someone has gone to considerable trouble to attempt to find meaning in Ae's song names. Maybe they're just interpreting a message wherein there is none, but it's still pretty interesting. for example: Eidetic Casein: 1. Eidetic means "of or pertaining to exceptionally clear and detailed visualisation", as in "eidetic memory" (that is, photographic memory). 2. Casein is a protein in dairy products. it's gluey, and used in making plastics and synthetic fibers. 3. Some people with autism and Asperger's syndrome are sensitive to casein, and Asperger's syndrome is sometimes characterized by eid…

Do any of you not like to turn people onto Ae? I find my self being VERY stingy with ae's music. Their music is something so personal and special to me that it's VERY hard to let others listen to it . I don't think most people I know would or could appreciate it on the level that I do. Autechre is more than just Sean and Rob making music together. I think about it this way... Once upon a time I was at a friends house shrooming and I was watching my friends brother draw. He had barely sketched out some type of gargoyle like creature when he stopped and decided to not finish it. The creature was looking back over its shoulder at you with a strange look of anger on its face,…

Anyone else here dig this track as much as moi??? I wish they'd put some of their heavier, adrenaline fuelled stuff like this on to their albums...a soundboard recording of this would make me

again. shit, this is a good album. Further and Slip are just straight up wickeed electronic music tracks. i still remember the days when i thought slip was a 'messed up techno track'. Now, after listening devoutly to mostly lp5 and confield, this shit seems level. it is wicked, perhaps ae will one day make more straightforward tunes. not that i don't like untilted etc. ap

Shameful that after being a rabid AE fan for the past 4 years (very short in the scheme of the duo), I still don't know for certain which is Rob and which is Sean. My understanding is that this is Sean is closest to the camera here> Pathetic I know, but it's bugging me....
