I got Trans Canada Highway!!! I did not believe my eyes!!! 6 days before the release date! I have the DVD and the sticker too. The sticker looks the same than the front cover of the album. I really wonder how I got it earlier.

i love this track, but i have been wondering, what is the little background fuzzing sound at the beginning? i love it, it sounds like tipping over an hourglass filled with little tiny crystals which make music when they rub together i don't know, maybe i'm strange.. but either way i've been wondering what the sound is, do you guys know what i'm talking about? i'm sure you all know what music making crystals in an hourglass sounds like.. so how do you think that sound was made? it might be something really simple, if so, tell me

for some reason i can't avoid imagining the high pithced sound at 5:02 as anything but ned flanders. the song rules but this kind of ruins the mood. by the way, the song was used on a BBC show about a criminal who forged like an entire mormon bible or something. i first heard it there so i've always associated the song with a large eerie mysterythat the government are trying to solve.

Geogaddi experts
by Guest Oorto Geld- 9 replies

I recently downloaded another copy of 'Geogaddi', due to the shoddy bitrates of the original (in mp3 format). Now, I've always felt that the intro/outro of 'You Could Feel The Sky' and the intro of 'Corsair' were rather abrupt, but I also always assumed that I had genuine copies of the tracks. However, while listening to this other version that I've just downloaded, the album as a whole sounds a lot more "flowing". ...So now I'm just confused. Here are the intros to each track: You Could Feel The Sky (Version 1) You Could Feel The Sky (Version 2) Corsair (Version 1) Corsair (Version 2) If anyone could tell me which version is genuine, i…

everyone having all of the "old tunes songs"? or would they frown upon it? because i know some artists just want people to listen to their music no matter what, even if that means downloading and such.. so is BOC like this?

my twoism

hi all yesterday I listened to twoism again, but this time in the better conditions! :clover: I want to share my point of view with you Before I liked it very much too but I had a feeling of a thing that is unachieved too short, a sample. I have read somewhere that it's a "mini album", I agree. I have to say too that the cover of twoism makes me think about an old tv series called "v les envahisseurs" (invaders) here in france. It is the story about the people from other planets who looks like human but its fake, they are ugly reptiles in fact. the cover is exactly the clothes of that tv shit (that I loved when I was a child) the description of the tracks…

there is some solid gold here ... about 25 videos, 7 of which i already had, but then quite a few new ones. most of the 'new' 18 or so are crap, but then some are awesome, especially, viz, this uber-lol video for rue the whirl: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-pwo7qpL7A8&sea...e%20the%20whirl but there's definitely a few good (or funny) videos ...

Boards of Canada Looking for videos

Hi all. I am new there. Boards of Canada makes me travel through the universe. Excuse me for my poor english, I am french. I am an art student in Paris and I am curious of what the fans of BoC feels when they listen to that sound, and what do their videos looks like. I already got some work of fans, they are very different from videos made by the "pro", it's why I like them. I ask you if you know places on the internet where we can talk about it and share knowledge and feelings. Thank You Lost cloud

Stry Craty Bya

I'm assuming most of the Acid Memories tracks I've found on Soulseek are unconfirmed, but I like the "Stry Craty Bya" track that runs a little over 4:30 minutes. If not the Sandisons, anyone know who made this?

Birthdays of Canada
by Guest Moebius- 0 replies

Is there any other reputable source for their birthdays other than the old old old EHX page? It seems like that is just repeated everywhere, but the Wikipedia article has different dates. Wikipedia used to have the EHX dates, but it was changed by someone in February, who offered this edit comment: The change was made by an anonymous used who just made 2 edits on the BoC page. Is there any evidence that backs up these new dates? Or is there any secondary comfirmation of the original EHX dates?

Demo 3? Demo 4?
by Guest Moebius- 20 replies

Someone made a big update to the BoC Wikipedia entry, added a section about Old Tunes and such. Of particular interest, they say there has been some new material leaked: (The acoustic part is really no big relevation, since we've known from the band's own given history that they had once existed as a "real" band before going to synths and loops, and earlier clips like form the old BoC pages or XYZ already give a hint of this sound (not to mention the acoustic portions of the previous leaks) I haven't been keeping up as much lately, but I havent' heard anything about any "demo 3" or "demo 4", and I don't see anything at the usual places (WATMM, Twoism, Y…

Anyone else notice that some of the Old Tunes Vol 1 tracks have a very unique synth sound? It sounds massive, distorted and raw, as if it was recorded in a cathedral or some other wide open space. Is this the sound of BoC's "secret weapon" synth? I don't remember hearing it as pronounced on any of their other albums. For reference, see: Track 8, side a Track 13, side a Track 16, side b It's such a fantastic sound, reminds me of that vintage synth that guy refurbished that somebody linked to a few months ago. I think I could listen to a whole album of this stuff - enveloping, vibrating, sinister synth with drums underneath. Lovely.

so, I had this idea for a scene in a timepiece movie set in the 1820s or so about rich people, but it wouldn't end up boring and would have a cool soundtrack. now, i mean, using new music in older set movies has been done before...but in weird ways. Wild Wild West for instance...with shitty Will Smith rapping, or A Knight's Tale...but that didn't make any sense cuz they used 70s rock over a 17th Century setting. now I wanna use BoC and other electronic music, and I was looking for a sorta dance scene element when I came across this. now, if you play Skyliner over top of this, it synchs up almost perfectly. start the video when the build up to the be…
