Sorry if jazz. Couldn't see if anyone had posted this before (though didn't look to hard as, naturally, I always feel a bit creeped out when I rarely look in the boc forum). Touring MHRTC this year apparently. Possibly the only time I haven't completely hated a live band covering electronic music (apart fron alarm will sound aphex album). Byron Wallen's Gayan Gamelan Ensemble interprets Boards of Canada's 'Music Has The Right To Children'. His fantastic show pays homage to Boards of Canada's seminal album 'Music Has the Right to Children' working with his rarely used Gamelan Ensemble for a truly unique night.

Can anyone tell me where this version of Olson comes from? Youtube sent it to me this morning and it's definitely not the album version...

Haven't seen anyone mention this yet. Seems like about a week ago Mike from BoC remembered his password and tweeted a neat little poem. https://twitter.com/MikeSandison/status/1329033597630771203 I wouldn't get to excited. Doesn't seem to signify anything, as he did something similar 2 years ago and nothing came of it. Just something I figured was worth bringing up.

I always wanted to make a stereotypical Boards video with old footage. Didn't come out as great as it was going in the beginning, think I added too much and it got all muddy, but I wanna work on something else so I'll post it.

My god what were they on when BoC made this track? It’s transcendental, I have a hard time believing this came of of the 90s. Ahead of its time. And the live version is almost better! This is the track that opened my mind and allowed me to “get” Boards of Canada. I love it so, so much. Drinking my morning coffee, reading The Economist, and giving MHTRTC a spin. Felt like this track deserves its own thread (couldn’t find one in search, anyways!) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, y’all. Cheers!

Anyone remember this that floated up among the fakes just before TH arrived? I used to know the artist responsible for this. I'm pretty sure he was Italian. He also wrote another track called 'Snowy Night' or something. I tried Shazam and other usual suspects.

"the devil is in the details "Just relax, and enjoy this pleasant adventure. Here you are, secure and protected, in this, your special place, letting my voice flow into your mind. There's no need to concentrate. Just gently as you go. Suggestions are going into your unconscious mind. Open yourself up to the greater wisdom and understanding. So, now, letting the sound of my voice reach the inner, healthy, receptive centre of yourself. See yourself now in your imagination; and you are being tranformed in a positive healthy way, so you are programming your unconscious mind, gaining new insight into your directions, in the future. Allow yourself to be more aware of your pat…

Please excuse my naiveté, the question is genuine: At what point did BoC transform from being simply one of the Warp Big Three to obsessed over love child of the great unwashed? A brief history, from my perspective: BoC release MHTRTC in 1998 and I hear the band for the first time. Great stuff, I approve and buy anything from them that I can. (stuff) BoC release TCH. I personally think it their best work to date but most of the rest of the BoC knowledgeable world seems to disagree. 2010-2012ish, my brother mentions a friend of his listens to BoC, (first indication I have BoC have crossed into the wider consciousness of the world) …

Remember when Mike was going to sell off one of the old boc tapes and some peeps got all flustered about it, and Mike ended up posting a video of him smashing it with a hammer. I loved that.
