I found this interesting. If it's a hoax old BOC album kudos to whoever made it. There is a version of Boqurant at 14:20. It could easily be a cover or maybe even just pitched down but this is a fun listen regardless.

According to the excellent BOCPages: According to Sean Booth, there exists a cover that Boards of Canada made of the Autechre track "Cichli", it still remains unreleased.

BOC repeatedly mentioned that sometimes they compose melodies or enture tracks using the Fibonacci sequence or fractals or other mathematical frameworks. I've been researching for some examples on this in their music but couldn't find anything yet. I know that some tracks / albums follow a very symmetric design, i.e. a palindrome. But in regards to Fibonacci and fractals I can't it in their music. Can you name a few examples?

https://lone.bandcamp.com/track/boards-of-canada-roygbiv-covered-by-lone A very lovely ROYGBIV cover done by none other than Lone, a great artist in his own right. He occasionally drops by WATMM 🙂 Anyways, it’s a pay what you want track with proceeds all going to Mind mental health charity. Playing Lone hype man today for sure but this is cool. He seems like a really cool dude. Happy Holidays, here’s looking forward to new BoC tunes in 2022! (????)

Thought I'd throw this out there: Coffee with Benson, 1996, Beaumont Hannant It does sound quite BOC-esque, don't you think? Eerie when you consider when it was made. Shame he disappeared from the scene not long after this. Unless he and BOC are one and the same. 🤪

Probably one of my favorite if not my my favorite album of all time. Arguably Zoviet's best full length. When I first heard Boards, one of the first things it reminded me of was this album. I'm not sure how many people in here are familiar with it or Zoviet France in general, but if you are a BOC fan I'm sure that you will find something to appreciate here. Zoviet France captured sort of a lofi broken AM radio aesthetic that didn't really come into fashion until fairly recently. BOC was one of the only bands I felt that followed down the same path back when they started putting out music. Anyways, I'm sure there are many other musical linkages you could make to what pos…

Someone made a really quite great 80 min video about BOC's work that's not nearly as lame as it sounds. Made me emotional tbh. Might be rather "tell me something i dont know" for a few of you but it's still very well put together

The copy which surfaced in Rough Trade East is up for sale (and before anyone asks - no, I'm not the seller) "Boards of Canada 2013 RSD secret giveaway promo 12" (1 of 6? only 2 known to have surfaced) After our recent move from London to Bristol we decided it was a good time to list this, We're selling this now as we have enjoyed owning it this past year but would like to use the sale to purchase some more records and expand our collection, my girlfriend picked this up from Rough Trade East in London when passing...she went to grab a coffee, flicked through the racks and picked this up. She knew of Boards of Canada but not of this releases significance, I…

Sorry if jazz. Couldn't see if anyone had posted this before (though didn't look to hard as, naturally, I always feel a bit creeped out when I rarely look in the boc forum). Touring MHRTC this year apparently. Possibly the only time I haven't completely hated a live band covering electronic music (apart fron alarm will sound aphex album). Byron Wallen's Gayan Gamelan Ensemble interprets Boards of Canada's 'Music Has The Right To Children'. His fantastic show pays homage to Boards of Canada's seminal album 'Music Has the Right to Children' working with his rarely used Gamelan Ensemble for a truly unique night.
