Back in 2000 Worm Interface (Ambient Soho’s label) released a compilation - Electric Chicken Volume One. There’s a track on that comp by an artist called Hexagon Sun. Is that just a coincidence or is there a connection? https://www.discogs.com/Various-Electric-Chicken-Volume-One/release/1395 Man I miss record shopping at Ambient Soho, happy days.

Probably some kind of retrospective on TH in light of the current climate but bit weird for them to be mentioned on the front cover just for that...

Turns 25 sometime this year, doesn't it? For whatever reason, I decided to give it another listen on my evening walk today, and I had a real moment. Like porno dude in Sixtyniner. When the name Twoism comes up here it's more often in reference to the eponymous forum than to the EP itself (or mini-album, or whatever it is). Could it be that this one is a little underrated? It's an incredible record and I'll love it forever. That is all.

Does anyone have that track from around 2005/2006? Back when that whole Red Moon trip/hype started. I know it 's a fake but it was a very lovely piece of music. Some kids and fireworks come in at the end. I used to have it on disk but can't find it.

Lovely track, one of my faves on the album. It takes a little while to grow on you, it reminds me a bit of one of their remixes. I think it's also one of the more emotionally complex tracks on the album. Funky, swinging, melancholy, hopeful. As with the other tracks, it cuts off too quickly and descends into noodle-ville...

Hi guys. I was just wondering if this film is worth obtaining on DVD. I believe a couple of audio samples from it were used on Geogaddi, so it has the BOC seal of approval I guess. Is it actually any good? It seems to be a b-movie albeit directed by George Romero so it may be of some reasonable quality. Am I right in thinking it contains some fucked-up dream sequences shot in the desert or in the woods or something? I appreciate your information!

Not to make myself the most hated man on the internets and bring up another BoC topic, but I finally got my copy of The Campfire Headphase (japanese edition)...going to listen for the first time. I've heard nothing of this at all....so it will be something very new.

something like this: or in various reviews, like the boomkat review of the tch ep, or the pitchfork review of iabpoitc, you'll find passages like "if you'd perfected this sonic playground, you'd want to stay here forever too" so, okay: in the shift from geogaddi to tch, for example, i must ask, how much more can a band change their sound, while still remaining the same band? i mean, ffs, BoC changed GENRES when they went from geogaddi to tch, from electronic music to wyrd folk. i struggle to think of two songs that are more different than "dayvan cowboy" and "devil in the details" (or for that matter, "devil in the details" and "roygbi…

This is Boards of Canada's most thematically serious album. Let's start with the title: Tomorrow's Harvest. I think it's asking us the question, "What sort of harvest will the seeds that humanity plants bring?" To put it in simpler terms, what are the consequences of our actions on a grand scale? We all know that the album uses a Cold War aesthetic, but I think this is only one application of this question. I think New Seeds is extremely symbolic of these theme. It is hopeful, but cautiously so. It makes us think of potential, of possibility, but it has a hint of mournfulness towards the end, like a fear of the inevitable decline of humanity. The last song on the albu…

It's probably lurking on here somewhere as well, but since the XYZ track from the Peel Session is finally released, thought it might be cool to hear them talking about their music to John Peel... Boards_of_Canada_Peel_Session_21_July_1998_full_interview.mp3

What do you people make of the percussion in this track? I must have listened to it 50 times and still can't really make sense of what is going on, normal drum kit sounds processed through analogue equipment? How is that "wet" elasticity part of the beat made and what is it really tied to? Sometimes while listening I get glimpses of something that makes a lot more sense but I can usually only hold onto that for a few seconds before it disappears.

This little filler is so fucking beautiful. I wonder if it actually is a full song buried deep in a BoC vault. Would love to hear it expanded on. https://youtu.be/5dOwYf5LNNo
