Take a look at this. Does anyone think/know if Maxima was named after this? http://maxima.sourceforge.net/ :undecided: Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... Maxima is a free computer algebra system, written in Lisp and released under the GNU General Public License. The software runs on all POSIX platforms such as Unix, BSD, and Linux as well as under Microsoft Windows.Maxima is based on Macsyma, which was developed at MIT with funding from the United States Department of Energy and other government agencies. Well, basically it's all about this. Or is it better to not have a comments section on TCH because BoC clearly stated in the recent interviews that there ain't much hidden secrets in their latest album? I'm a bit puzzled here...

well, exams are over, ergo i have lots of extra time on my hands ... and so here's another mix, which (like the 99 minute electronic music one) i'd been meaning to make for a while. i realize that with BoC, especially, the 'best of' is very subjective, and so hopefully my favorite tracks happen to coincide with most of the fan favorite type tracks. again, the crossfading is generally pretty good, i think, but certainly not like uber-dj-quality or whatever, as i'm still almost entirely unexperienced with this sort of thing. also i managed to keep it under 80 minutes (the mix is 78:30) this time, per the requests regarding the last mix ... well, i hope someone finds it w…

Does anyone know, or know how to find out, if the 'Geogaddi' (Japanese edition CD) listed on the HMV.co.jp website, contains the track 'From One Source All Things Depend' because it's not listed, but it is the Japanese edition on the 'Beat Records' label. >> http://www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail.asp?sku=240926 If anyone could tell me or find out for me I would be very, very greatful. I've already tried e-mailing HMV, but no reply The e-mail I sent is below. Hi, I’m a huge ‘Boards of Canada’ fan and I would like to buy a copy of this Geogaddi (Japanese edition CD) but I was of the understanding that the Japanese edition of the album include…

I'm desperately looking for that picture that's on the inside of the special edition geogaddi, I know it's around somewhere, just can't find it, googled, looked on the boc-pages, but no luck. Anybody got it?

i don't know if this means anything but Dayvan Cowboy, the fifth track on Campfire headphase is exactly 5 minutes. Maybe the number 5 is somehow significant to the words dayvan cowboy. I'm not sure.

Listening to BoC at a packed playground in SF
by Guest epsy- 2 replies

had phones on, new campy cd and 84' pontiac dream came on and the kids turned into cars. no they didn't. but really, BoC also makes for funny backdrop music for all the aging hippies in haight ashbury as well. Next time you get bummed, bring the new BoC to the playground. Then get all joyous and swing next to some kid you don't know smiling until security arrives cause you were high and adjusted your package in front of kids without realizing it cause u were blinded by the BoC!

was on Twoism and "kem1kal" decided to put The story of xentrix and 1986 summer fire together and it sounded good. so i decided to do one too. and i have to say i am well impressed with my first time ever time editing a track. it came out very well. I think it did anyway. xentrix story of time apple with flutes Ok so i put this to boc fan's. Put a xentrix track together like i did and post it up here. best of luck ;) ;) ^_^

Just their third missive in the past seven years, The Campfire Headphase displays Boards of Canada changing few of their methods but more of their sounds. The key difference between this record and its predecessors is the advent of unprocessed, recognizable guitars (a small heresy to portions of their fanbase). Although it smacks of a gimmick, and does occasionally remove the mysticism from their productions, it marks a good addition to their palette. Still in effect — and still never equaled anywhere else — is the pair's ability to make electronic music that not only evokes a much earlier period in music, but sounds as though it was last issued decades in the past as wel…
