  1. Mozex, maybe you could take the viewpoint of this guy from another forum

  2. States vary a lot regarding party registration. In Texas you have to declare one and stick with it the primary, runoffs, etc. until the next cycle. This is the first election I won't vote in the GOP primary - I used to for various reasons....voted for Ron Paul back in my early 20 something libertarian days, then moderate GOP local and state candidates in primaries. In 2016 I wanted to vote for a Republican, Jerry Patterson, running against George P Bush in the land commissioner office. It's a niche office related to my work in land surveying and Bush has been so contentious that Jerry Patters

  3. I appreciate your honesty here and now we now where you stand. You're just basically in the wrong place. I know the forum name can be misleading, I've seen it happen a couple of times before, but it comes from an Aphex Twin song like mentioned earlier. This is just a sub for people to share their own stuff. Go on, poke around the place, maybe you'll find some new influences. Now, like BCM pointed out there is nothing wrong with using those loops and so on, but we are simply so used to tunes which chops everything up to million pieces and then gather them together and create something...

  5. C and G I wasn't into, and E is not the kind of thing i will put on, typically. A2, B2, D, F, i, ii, iii, K, and L constitute an epic and formidable collection of music. if jodey completes the alphabet, which he seems ready to do, this will be quite special. it already is. agreeing with others that L is great.

  8. I had to look up the Easy Pete meme. If you're not familiar, it's this. A guy tries to give himself a bunch of chips through a mod, but ends up spawning like 10k Easy Petes.

  9. By coincidence, yes - just played with it yesterday evening. It’s a tracker where you wire up the signal path in “modular” fashion (kinda like Jeskola Buzz). The sampler is very usable, the synths and effects serviceable but not great. The fact that you can wire them up any way you want does encourage you to get creative, however, which offsets the basic quality level. Interface is unpleasant on a phone but *very* good on a tablet (even on an iPad mini). There’s desktop versions I haven’t tried yet but like the mobile versions these don’t do VST so they’re not as useful as renoise.

  10. I'm not quite the Harris skeptic as some other far left folks, I agree a lot of supporters are naive about her. That said even cynics have pointed out that she can help absorb a lot of Biden supporters and, again this is cynical / superficial AF, she's a non-white female with an appealing background with a bit (albeit not much) more charisma than HRC had. She's a good person to have in the race. I'm not a ride or die Bernie supporter but I'm rooting for him and I'm getting pretty defensive of those who claim he isn't viable. He's literally one of the most coherent, consistent, and honest.

  12. I've been listening to a lot of Ravi Shankar lately and can firmly recommend this: I think in general though anything by Rajeeb Chakraborty is amazing if you want sarode and tabla: I'm personally a bit obsessed by tanpura drones and would love a record just of variations of those and some tabla. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  13. Fellow watmmaker you may want to watch their set at Glastonbury last night. I haven't had anything to do with Chems for years, and wasn't really expecting much. I was wrong! It was mental. too busy atm to post up links (soz)

  15. The early ones were like compilations, proper grab bags of wildly different stuff, then Jodey switched it up and now each release is more or less stylistically homogenous. I don't really know which approach i prefer. I do enjoy (iii) but it does sound like it was made on a more limited studio setup, lots of jammy sketches and a slightly retrograde attitude. L is like full on melodic IDM/drill n bass madness. I would also have bought this one on wax, hopefully Clone/D.U.B. will include a few of these trax on any future installments of the EDM comp. P.s. he should have put 'Matashi Ac

  17. Oh god... extraction doesn't sound fun. I guess I should probably take action of some kind before it gets worse. Was hoping if I ignored it long enough it would magically cease to be an issue, like maybe the remaining tooth will just become really strong and impervious to cavities.

  18. relatable fwp - i just got back from the dentist bc of on-again off-again wisdom tooth pains. turns out one of mine also broke off. going back for the oh so lovely extraction process soon. hope you fare better. saw a how-to for this project in make magazine years back, thought about trying it too... sorry to hear it's such a PITA, don't give up!

  19. I understand but I do not think using a drumloop and a vocal loop is so bad. I would just like to do my own thing but its not possible to share that here. Because it always comes down on the same thing, the loop thing. I am not gonna change it I am sorry and its clear that many of you have a problem with it. I understand you are trying to help but I just do not feel accepted, I feel like I need to defend myself the whole time. Because I use a drumloop and a vocal loop. I do play all the other sounds myself but...

  27. interesting overview of "the scene" although for whatever reason, the writers are reluctant to name group names despite giving you enough details to just wiki who they're talking about. that becomes a little annoying since you have to keep going back and forth to get better betwix book and .net to get more details

  30. Wahey, I picked up a cheapo Infinite Jest a couple days ago. Looking forward to another run through. I think it tops my list of most viscerally '90s books (that same weird parallel reality feeling I get from Ventolin-era Aphex, kinda). Did a bunch of Don Quixote this week but then I found my old copy of Giles Goat Boy & got distracted

  31. I didn't take much notice of VCV Rack as it was standalone only, and I have R6 already Some clever chap, however, has now built this to run under VST https://github.com/bsp2/VeeSeeVSTRack It comes with most (all? >650) of the $0 modules pre-packaged. Download the pre-built 7z and simply copy to your plugins folder It seems to work very well. Certainly an essential considering it's all free
