  2. His sirens. Like wee woo wee woo sirens. Most cunts just sample sirens off dj gunshot or the film Babylon or some random dub records. Our Tom as the most diverse array of home made sirens. NTS mix trax at 13:10, or 24:45, or 33 mins See also Venus no17. Get ya sirens. I would buy Siren Selekta vol 1 by pusha in a heartbeat. Nothing but sirens. I've said sirens too much and now the word is meaningless.

  3. Hello everyone! I'm new to this community and would like to share some of my music. I've put a compilation of music on the web, a sort of sketch book or memoir. I've selected tracks I made that I think are unique enough to stand out. My main interest is in writing music in an organic and interesting way (interesting to me at least). All of these tracks are made purely on hardware devices - there are no VSTs or editing done on a DAW. I found that if I limit myself to the sound of what I own I'm much more content. I try to use the whole studio...

  4. Beautiful Burnout is a great track. How can it be a parody of an underworld lyric when it is one? 2 months off, jumbo, downpipe, ring road, all great. I thought Barking was a great album, given it was all collaborations. Scribble is a great live track too. Karls stream of consciousness poetry lyrics still maintain the magic for me. I need to spend more time with Drift but i would suggest being free from the constraints of writing an album in a studio has done wonders for their creative juices.

  5. What if The Rolling Stones announced their last show, just played a cover of "Electric Feel" over and over for three hours, and denied doing it when interviewed about it later? Respect.

  6. It's overreacting. It's assuming the worst. This is what hype is all about. Or rather, negative hype. There will be many more viruses like this one. But the most deadly one is the regular old seasonal flu. And nobody gives a shit. Why? Because it's a "known" danger we're already familiar with. You can't make a Hollywood movie about the seasonal flu, because that's boring. It has to be about some unknown exciting and scary new virus. So any time something new pops up, we can run our internal Hollywood movie about crazy new viruses. It's just silly.

  7. China does what China does: react harshly when it’s clear it’s a real problem, hesitates to do so because, hey, it’s Chinese New Year and half a billion people want to go visit their families, so let’s not do anything drastic unless we’re reasonably certain we have to.

  11. I can't get enough of these people. Over these past weeks I have been taking a deep dive into their discog again and they have some of my fav records of all time. Spanners takes the cake with Silenced as a close second. I love all of these projects so much. Music for adverts is defo the most underrated one of them all. What is your favorite? What is your least favorite? What do you love or hate about their music?

  13. Don’t worry, man. As long as you’re aware of what’s going on. Go out for a long fucking walk tomorrow and don’t come back until you’re tired enough to go to bed. What did you do at your last job and do you wanna continue down that road?

  15. Drift is phenomenal - probably my AOTY last year. Also adore 100 Days Off, Riverrun, and most of Oblivion. Different strokes, I guess.

  19. I also agree with the above posts V/U and Nico is easy in my top 10. It was a pretty great phase when I was buying all those classic albums by The Doors, Sabbath, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Bowie, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones (though I've gone off The Stones the last decade, for some reason), Bob Dylan, The Byrds, Neil Young etc etc. Still love all that stuff.

  21. Was reading about this last night - it’s called a corona virus because the proteins around the virus make it look like a little crown. So would have been obvious from a blood test that it was a corona virus. Thing with these viruses is they evolve and fast. They’ve already evolved to jump from bats to (they think) snakes to humans, and they combine with the host DNA and evolve. So could get more deadly or less deadly and could start spreading more or less quickly. Flu & pneumonia kill loads but there’s vaccinations in place already and we know how it works, this could get a lot

  28. This old site is still good : https://pianoworld.com/fun-stuff/piano-scales-and-chords/ Extended chords are fairly straightforward once you understand the counting system 3+4 semitones for minor vs 4+3 for major, it's the same method up into the 13th extension. The sus, dim and aug chords often get neglected on the keyboard as opposed to the guitar, they open a lot of new ground. Dim chords are particularly sweet when used right... but I'm partial to the passionate bossa sound. Classical theory is usually too dry for innovative pretentious synth & indie music. 31. Go Brains! ? In all fairness though, even if I disagree with most of what "long number" says, I appreciate the "lets have a different point of view and try some critical thinking" exercise. As long as it doesn't devolve into a shouting match, I'm all for it. Better than living in an echo chamber, imo. I've worked at a scientific institute for a while, and they used to call it "Poppering" over there. A verb named after Karl Popper. Anyways, that was a pretty useful concept for me.
