  1. I think we've always misunderstood Warren. She was a Republican once upon a time after all. She used to be my favorite politician but she has had gaffe after gaffe every since she decided not to endorse Bernie in 2016. I'm at a point with her where I feel like I don't know what she actually thinks due to the way she plays politics.

  2. i bet bernie ends up with a good lead and gets the nomination. obama won in 08 because he wanted it. he scratched for the numbers. when i look at the campaigns, a lot of them are running great campaigns but i think the one who is clawing for it may be bernie. he's been plotting since 16. rank in the first 4, get CA, and grow the following.

  5. It's hard to say. We will have a much clearer picture on super Tuesday. I'll be at the voting booth bright and early that day. I can't believe they're letting so many establishment Dems stay in the race. Like, Pete, Biden, and Bloomberg will only hurt each other in the long term. The whittling down process needs to begin for them and they need to get behind the candidate they think will be best, like they did with Hillary in 2016.

  8. Yes, PS3's are region free players, they play everything. DVDs are a bit trickier and can be regional only - but blu rays should be absolutely fine. You can buy a 2nd hand Ps3 with a whole load of games for about £60

  9. i'm sure there'd be unforeseen consequences. more women getting pregnant or something. a month long break.. nothing to do but hang out and socialize and get busy. after 9-11 the sky cleared up so much from lack of air traffic that the temperature changed. it was so quiet on the beach in san diego. so nice. so clear. so calming. the scientists took the opportunity to measure the effects of air pollution from planes. the documentary Dimming the Sun was born.

  10. I don't think that pausing all factories periodically would solve the problem. I could even imagine that it causes technologically caused rebound effects that would increase energy waste. Instead, all production chains and global trading relationships must be figured out in a completely new way and a maximum of resources must be put into developing green technologies. But that's politically impossible. We are basically doomed.

  12. So here is some braindance!! Recently discovered and been highly inspired by Bogdan Raczynski's productions and methodologies. Most of the new stuff I am working is all tracker composions, written quickly, and trying getting as close to my natural "sound" as I can without being buried in a mountain of gear and perfectionism.

  13. Lush forests do not exist in the Netherlands but you can rent a bike and cycle from Haarlem to the beach. There’s a national park (“park” being the operative word here) that covers some of the dune landscape between Haarlem and the beach. If you’re into craft beer, one of the first significant craft beer breweries of the Netherlands has a café inside a former church. If you’re into art, Frans Hals lived and worked in Haarlem and there’s a neat - but small - museum that shows some of his last works. And speaking of museums: there’s one called Teyler’s museum which, while small, is an awesome old fashioned...

  15. fair point auxien: so it comes down to whether people are so turned off by the nominee that they're willing to stick with trump, or whether they can stand behind the nominee. if biden loses and his voter block is more mature- perhaps they'll make the better the decision? 17. Double espresso using a freshly ground, dark roasted espresso blend is my daily breakfast. Ground using a Rocket Faustino, then pulled through a Rocket Appartamento. These two machines may have been expensive, but damn were they worth it (and are pure coffee porn)! Mind you, it took me a while to learn how to pull a decent shot.

  19. This is a key bit of advice. Mix your sends. Treat them like any other track. You dont have to restrict yourself to eq either, compression and more aggressive filtering can help. Automate levels depending on the arrangement.

  23. This is their intent I'm sure, but the whittling down needed to begin like yesterday. I don't think the DNC thought Bernie would be doing this well already. Btw I hope they stay in the race for as long as possible, lol. Also Biden apparently called Warren's campaign and asked her to stay in the race until after super Tuesday. I wonder why he is asking for that, hmm. It's too early to see to what degree they may fix the race. I do think they will (the legal way), depending on how well Bernie does on super Tuesday. Honestly they have many moves they can make to make winning...

  33. I think it probably has more to do with the baristas in Italy using more traditional medium or dark roasts for espresso instead of a super-light roasted single origin bean for espresso. When pulled as a shot, super-light roasts can be sour acid bombs, even at top notch coffee spots. But I've had some really good ones that made me keep trying and I like them as pourover/drip/aeropress n all that

  34. Aside from all the wisdom above, I'll add 2 simple yet crucial epiphanies : gain-stage carefully (I've calibrated VUMT so that 0 VU = -24, which is a perfect offset to create tons of headroom) and EQ notes rather than frequencies. That last one has improved my mixes 10 fold.

  35. Yeah, PS4 has better exclusives, Xbox has game pass. Next gen machines before Christmas though, so if you wait you can get something that will last you a while, or you can probably pick up a PS4 or Xbox dirt cheap since everyone will be upgrading

  36. IF the election goes by normally, people drop out when it makes sense, and Bernie loses. Then Bernie was going to lose. Maybe next time.

  37. idk, Bernie's got a lot of the Dem voters and establishment against him. like, seriously against him. things look good for him now and the obvious path seems to be his but i wouldn't undervalue norms and party line voters who do not want radical massive leftward movement that Bernie and others represent.

  39. Gearslutz has a ton of good discussions on the subject. Most of the YouTube channels aren't very reliable. Working on low volume is great for mixing and matching to your heroes tracks. The fletcher munson hearing curve changes with volume so you need to vary it. I'm not a fan of bandpassing, it makes shit sound disjointed and played through phone speakers, band reject sounds hollow and unreal. Paint with broad strokes and leave the surgery for actual problems. Gain riding and wide Q EQ dips of just a few dB does wonders. Gotta take breaks to avoid overdoing it. Steve Albini plays Scrabble during sessions to avoid interfering until...
