  1. ショーン:“all end”は、『Exai』の“Bladelores”というトラックに似ている。そして、最後のセッションだ。“all end”は、『Exai』の“Bladelores”のアイディアのいくつかを展開したもので、NTSのためのスペシャル・ヴァージョンと言えるよ。だから“Bladlores”の終章、終りということだね。 Sean:All End is similar to a track called Bladelores from Exai. And it was the end session. All End is an expansion of some ideas from a track on Exai. Bladelores. Kind of a special NTS version of that track. So the name is about, how it’s the end of Bladlores. ロブ:終りのすべて、全部。 Rob:And it’s all of it. source: http://www.ele-king.net/interviews/006477/

  2. I disagree. You didn't provide any context and criteria for your review of the track titles, so it's just a heavily subjective rambling. Let's see these titles in context, and forst pf all take a brief history of Autechre track titles. On Incunabula and Amber a good portion of the titles are still regular words, another portion are distorted words ("Maetl"), and only a few seem to be so much "distorted", that tey are more like made-up words: "Kalpol Inrol" (second half is just distorted from Intro) and "Yulquen". With Tri Repetae they shift to these kind of made-up words: if they are distorted from real words these aren't be...

  5. That Boomkat review has done a great job in piquing my interest in Sign. I'll be honest I still haven't listened to NTS much more than a couple of tracks, Elseq was great (some of their best tunes, but it was hard work trawling my net through the deep Elseq waters to find them) and then after such an immense release it was followed by the monolithic NTS, and then Autechre fatigue set in. I'm glad they have changed their direction (breathes a sigh of relief!). Feels like light at the end of a very long dark tunnel.

  10. Food for thought, not perfect but a good primer: https://medium.com/@mikeselinker/a-wargame-designer-describes-our-four-possible-civil-wars-cf5b2e980099 I'm mentally preparing for martial law. I also expect the U.S. military not to support Trump but not force him out either - I think they will find themselves floundering the entire time the election is contested. There's no precedent to this and ironically the top brass will feel constrained and limited by what they can constitutionally do whereas the Republicans won't hesitate at all to further double-down. The U.S. military won't split up into warring factions either the way they did in the U.S. Civil War or in the Spanish Civil War. It will look more like 1993 Russian...

  11. Discussing the grammatical correctness of Autechre song titles. They flew too close to the sun that is "proper" song titles with this one, and clearly should have just called it "al lend" or "alle nd" to avoid confusion.

  13. We're in the midst of a pandemic. Even when the avatars were circular the world continued to turn. Since then we've moved on. A man who does an unspecified job on cruise ship is having trouble with a burger emoji when he pinches the screen to zoom in. There is also a man who has an avatar that glitches in a cool style like an old MTV video who didn't take kindly to the suggestion that it hadn't uploaded properly in circular form, nor the criticism that such a gif was fairly contrived and done to death in this day an age. But all that pales into insignificance if we...

  17. Note: I am not a qualified or degreed expert of English, so what I have to say may be entirely incorrect. Or as I like to (mis)quote Isaac Asimov; "English is my favorite language to abuse". "all end" is not a complete sentence and thus, strictly speaking, is not grammatically correct. But as a word poem or a poetic title, 'all end' conjures up a suitable image that fits the music well. More importantly, song titles serve a purpose quite different than a literary sentence and thus the necessity of being grammatically correct mostly falls away. On the other hand, there are countless examples of song titles so cringe worthy(*)...

  18. I'm not a native speaker, indeed, without the translator I struggle, but I think that All End rather than End All means that the whole track is made up of the end (specifically the bladelores ending: "all this is the end of bladelores"... and "all this - 1 fucking hour - is the end of NTS" ), and not that "everything is end" . Clearly being the final piece of an eight hour long work, and with epic tones, the idea wants to play a little in the balance between the two interpretations.

  19. As a non-native speaker I always wondered - is all end grammatically correct as it is? Because from my limited knowledge of the english language it doesn't seem it's the case but I can never be sure. Is it just a combination of two words without a grammatical connection? How does the title all end sound/look to a native speaker?

  20. Sounds like he managed to really merge his recent approach to mainstream production and his older sounds. There are some Replica vibes to Auto and Allo imo. Also I'm really intrigued by the fact that he seems to have dropped the really heavy concept album thing he did with Age Of. Long live OPN!

  28. Emosh sounds aussie-slang friendly, like it could slot in nicely with your iso & arvo & avo & sanga & straya, however I've never heard it in the wild here. 'Emosh' probably would have been dealt as a snide pejorative masculinity banter term when a male breaks social faux pas by getting a tad too u wot m8 or sooky.

  29. Nice, I need to see what he's been up too. Not surprised Media Roots Radio has always been insightful and tenacious in that kind of reporting. Abbey Martin has been on JRE and I think on Heidecker's show as well. Worst Year Ever (Behind the Bastards spinoff) did a great episode with an expert on Aum Shinrikyo who has seen parallels to QAnon. She was a bit stiff but informative and totally predicted how influential and dangerous QAnon was going to become over a year ago. She mentioned how crazy the Aum Shinrikyo era hysteria was, I knew of the bombing but apparently it reached a fair number of citizens...

  33. i have the same ranking as you where 1 is clearly the best, 2 is "quite good" and 3 is somehow not quite up to par as a whole. imo 4 is just as good if not even better than 2. if 2 is "qg" i'd say 4 is "lush." that being said i think 4 seems to make it clear that the project has some conceptual inconsistency. this one has lots of lush strings and big verbs and cinematic vibes which seems like it has nothing to do with the cold, digital crunch of the first record and overall it seems that 1 is the only album in the...
