  5. some of us are trying anyway, threadwise: idk shit about Marx's writings really other than the very basics, but it seems pretty disconnected from reality now. he was fighting a losing battle back then during the industrial revolution...but now, 150 years later? whether or not anyone may agree with his thoughts, they sound idyllic in some ways but overall just like a fairy tale. there are people living this more measured and 'simple' existence in some ways now, aren't there? communes and more rural/less developed communities in some parts of some countries, yes?

  7. I wish there was a way to make this thread and the unintellectual thread crash into each other resulting in posts from both mixed together out of order.

  10. idk I just think TM1 open is a great closer that I didn't switch its placement (and also its transition to F7 is really good) I can see where you're coming from but it makes a lot of sense for me I think because I find ii.pre esc to be emotionally impactful yeah that was the point. honestly I find myself listening to this tracklist more than the separate albums I really love its pacing i think you meant X4 but I just checked and that does work quite well actually

  12. Chiastic Slide is for me one of the examples of a perfect track order in their discography. Each track is such a contained world, often with intro and outro, so jumping to a new vibe on the next track (as it is in the original tracklist) works really well there. And thus, cipater>cichli are too similar to be right next to each other in yours for my taste. Your Alt Draft kinda works for me, in particular those first 3 tracks worked better than I had expected.

  18. This preview looks sick. I’ll either be there theatre to see this on opening night or spending $25 to watch it on demand at home.

  19. My local actually got a copy of William Parker's recently released decuple-album, Migration of Silence into and Out of the Tone World, which I bought for a mere $75. This song isn't on the new album, but it is cool.

  20. you cna't ewven get a computer processor without a LITERAL backdoor coprocessor built into it which cannot be disabled without going back to 2006* https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme >In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. find another avenue of attack on marxism, this consumer choice shit is literally made up "oh but you do have c hoice, there's AMD!" you...

  24. For anyone interested in how this was made , both auxien and I have elektron A4s and RYTMs. We traded the .syx files back and forth a number of times until we were both satisfied with how the songs were sounding on the machines themselves. Then we basically went about recording and editing the tracks individually until we arrived at the final versions you hear on the EP.

  28. Been spinning the CD today. Its a nice album - certainly a slight departure from murky fog Stott of the past decade (which I love). The drums on the title track are super lush. Definitely are more upbeat / spring vibe on this album and it does feel like an evolution of his sound (I don't think he could have got deeper down the rabbit hole of murk without losing what makes his sound "Stott", so going upbeat and slightly poppy was the right choice imo) I quite like the video; its not cringe?

  30. With three years since I last posted my music to this thread, I feel fine promoting my new fifteen-year-Aeriae-anniversary EP today. It's named for the first Aeriae track I produced back in 2005. Spanning 2005-2008, these tracks have a dark, sepulchral feel that mostly precedes the style of my first album Hold R1. Opener Abraxas and the original long edit of Hold R1 (I used just the tail of it on the album) have never been released before. Reign and Quiz are tracks that took part in the endless music contest on garagebandDOTcom, back when that great site existed (no relation to Apple's Garageband software which now has that URL)....
