  2. The low level anxiety associated with basically being available 24/7 to anyone that has your phonenumber has been eating away at me a bit. A lot of it seems like empty chit-chat that would be alright irl because it might lead to an actual conversation but on WhatsApp 90% is just exchanging tokens, confirming each party is still alive and making plans to meet up. I switched off my phone entirely for almost 24 hours the other day and it felt amazing, did feel the need to notify some people in advance in case they’d think I’d died or something. Gonna try to make that into a regular thing.

  3. This remix makes me want to hear an Autechre electro album, maybe more 90s and less math.

  4. just went to the grocery store and to pick up some cuban food and lot's of masks. only saw one guy in the grocery store w/o a mask. i'm in west ft lauderdale more or less. so, around here most people staying masked. i flew through atlanta to get here and the flight attendants got on the PA like every 10 minutes to instruct people to keep masks on and how to eat while wearing a mask etc.. "you can't just hold a drink in your hand and keep your mask down as if you're eating for the entire flight" today i was told that flight disruptions are up like...

  6. Palmbomen II's new album 'Make A Film' can be viewed as a faux crash course in film making plus the soundtrack to score your first movie. This beautiful double vinyl album comes with an extended step-by-step course on writing, directing and shooting your first film. To make it easy, Palmbomen II included twenty four tracks that set the right mood for different scenes, from "Medium Melancholy" to "Slightly Dark". Everybody could 'Make A Film'.

  7. And rightfully so. I think I've only put in about two hours so far. But this is it - the big return of the Metroid IP. It's not only a faithful return to the OG Metroid games, but an overhaul. New planet, new abilities, movement is ultra smooth, and now you can free aim as well as use melee attacks + parry. Also for anyone who's played Fusion and are familiar with the SA-X, well...say hello to the E.M.M.I.

  9. Had tickets for London but of course I get my rota and I'm working nights. Also missing Jeff Mills in Derry. The lesson? Never look forward to anything.

  10. i know nothing about this artist - but peak oil is cool little label that released the INCREDIBLE topdown dialectic releases. and the samples sounded great. Peak Oil is proud to present Invariant, the first LP in three years from Russia’s best kept electronic music secret: Hoavi. Originally intended for pre-pandemic release, this collection of emotive and intricate homages to the slippery nature of genre has only intensified in relevancy and urgency. From alt sci-fi dimension floor-filler “Streamline” to “Dver”, a contemplative evocation of a world in which time collapsed in on itself and liquid had embraced footwork, to the propulsive modular dub-tech evisceration of “Tessera” closing out the LP,...

  12. Brilliant second collaborative release from Geyzel & Pflum, inventive peak time electro-breaks business. Highly recommended.

  13. Hello! I have a new full length album out today on Bandcamp and all the big streaming services. It's more ambient and moody than my usual music. It starts off fairly pleasant with some Odd Nosdam inspired tracks but quickly gets kinda creepy and ends up quite claustrophobic by the end. I wrote this track by track on a Digitakt sampler because I wanted to have an ambient set that could be performed from just one machine. I think that added a little more cohesion to the record compared to my other stuff. Let me know if you like it! Bandcamp: The Ghost Is Clear | Dollarstore Keyboard (bandcamp.com) Spotify:

  22. Awful. Creative, thoughtful guy that I spoke to a bit through private messaging, but didn't know that well. His music was always interesting and I appreciated his unique perspective on anything he wrote about. My sympathies to his family.

  24. wait til you see this i checked out this Really Cool Desktop Background website here: https://wallpapercave.com/really-cool-desktop-backgrounds and they are all so really cool! i wish they only were not just really cool backgrounds but instead they were NFTs that i could pay for. honestly each and every one, even the Hulk background, is totally very cool and easily worth a doctor's yearly income at the very least. i am glad that i have this kind of very real money that i could in theory offer to pay for each and every one of these very cool backgrounds and own the image perpetually, for eternity! that would be such a good...

  26. Some days I think everything is just a pump-and-dump scheme. And not just the stock market, crypto, NFTs, etc (as demonstrated by the inordinate influence a single Tweet can have on all of their price/value), but possibly everything in the world with an economic component, if you widen the definition of 'cashing out'...

  29. I loved Narkopop a lot but Rausch was just... I don't know, I just couldn't gel with it. I tried listening to it today once again but couldn't get through the whole album. I just don't like the sound design of Rausch I guess.

  34. regarding dx11/tx81z Mark Fell: For example, I had a Yamaha TX81Z, which uses four-operator FM synthesis and had a few quirks to it. There was this mode, which rather than being multitimbral was like a multitimbral setup, but every time you press the note to progress to the next sound in the series of sounds that you specify. So every time you played a note it could produce not just a series of notes but a series of sound changes as well. So I just did loads of work with that, setting up simple sequences of sound changes and note changes that would go in and out of phase and...

  36. I'm watching the Third Day (HBO) instead. Folk horror/drama with a strong dash of innsmouth vibes (plus some psychedelic imagery) Only two episodes deep, but so far it's fingering a lot of pleasure points.

  37. Re-re-watching the 4 seasons of the British pseudo-historical comedy series Black Adder. In my opinion the best thing Rowan Atkinson has done in his career. Especially love seasons 3 (1987) (set in early 19th century with the Prince of Wales) and 4 (1989) (set in trenches of the First World War).
