  1. just re-reading some of the news articles going around in 2010 when richard casually announced that he "has six albums already completed". everyone on the techno scene was hyped, and there were loads of threads about it in here. if you were here in 2010, you'll remember just how exciting this was. we were all running around guessing what these albums could be, what they sounded like. and of course it was impossible to know - that was the magic of it. well, here we are. how do we fare? this material has surfaced in various places. first we had the Noyzelab Interview Tracks - released alongside richard's SYROBONKUS article...

  2. Taxes pay for civilization you greedy fuck. Roads, sidewalks, schools, parks, hospitals, fire departments are all there for the public good as they should be. Everyone ought to be paying in according to their means. Demonizing the state or "big gov't" is disingenuous. Sure there is plenty of inefficiency but the problems of poor allocation are not inherent, rather they are by way of unethical politicians and leadership directing revenues according to whatever political ideology holds sway. You know, the c*nts your fellow billionaire cronies prop up to do just that.

  4. hi guys, around this time last year I reached out to the forum while conducting my thesis research to try and better understand the history and online essence of idm culture I framed idm as a disorganized online idm subculture, situating its history in rave culture and the impact that the UK rave movement and internet had on the formation of similar communities. I talked about self-identity, authenticity, social capital, cultural practices, the mainstream & underground, and some critical issues in race/gender inclusion that are quite general in the context of popular electronic music I'm happy to share this final product with you - I graduated in september and I...

  8. "WATMM users can use one of eight reactions to communicate value: ‘Like’, ‘Thanks’, ‘Haha’, ‘Confused’, ‘Sad’, ‘Facepalm’, ‘Burger’, ‘Farnsworth’, or ‘Big Brain’. While the first five reactions are self-explanatory, the other four remain ambiguous, even to some users (2021)" I can hardly express how much I love knowing that this text was read by whomever was tasked with reviewing your thesis. I'm only that far, but it already wins the entire internet and also most of cyberspace. 🍻

  17. Aye! He's drip fed about 30 minutes of new music over the past year via his BC, plus the 6-track collab EP with Dolor. So he's obviously in the studio working on stuff (or at least, has been). He previously mentioned an album title of PERIPHERY From discord via reddit (lol)

  26. Force is on the Soundtrack [313] album and on this Peacefrog compilation that has all the tracks from both DEC's short-lived eponymous label releases, The Braille EP and Shifting Gears, couple of album tracks and Orange, which is exclusive to it. The other DEC album, Black Buildings, is also available from Peacefrog. Black Buildings/EP has two exclusive tracks, Plumb and Nebulae, not available anywhere else; Blue Science/Between Dubnotes: The EP, has exclusives, too. Stitch is an exclusive compilation track.

  27. a lesson in how stress fucks your brain up: after sweating for 3 hours over a certain process I thought I had fucked up (I hadn't even, it ended up turning out well) and around which there were important expectations, I was called away to go pick someone up quickly, and in my haste I unthinkingly ran a red light, cutting off a car coming through perpendicularly. I hadn't realised what I'd done until I was through. I'd honked at the other car in annoyance thinking they were at fault. now I'm fucking mad at myself for doing something so stupid, for allowing the stress of the other situation to...

  33. A little project I've been working on in between writing my own stuff. I've always been fascinated with SAW 85-92 and how it was created, as there's not a whole lot of info about it on the internet. I thought it would be a fun challenge to try to recreate some of the tracks to maybe find out myself, through trial an error, how some of it was made.
