  1. Been over a decade since I've visited this forum and I've missed it at times. Instant lol's all over general banter though 😅! So who's still kicking around?

  2. Available now from CC Undefined Records! Artificial Disco goes on an Amen Break bender in this selection of jazzy breakbeat tunes. It features all sorts of drumbeat mangling, some delay-drenched trumpet, some aggressive piano chords and way too many notes. https://ccundefined.com/albums/not-quite-right/

  6. I used to post under a different name on the same account but in the intervening years I've realized I was transgender, drifted away from the forums and then at some point came back. Don't post as much as I used to, since I'm in better health/less manic and hypomanic like I was in my earlier days here but I still love Autechre. I'm also definitely a lot more into more "normal" electronic stuff like techno, jungle, and so on than the IDMs these days, but Ae still scratches an itch no one else can. I remember your name and face but don't totally remember your old posts, I'm sorry...

  7. I remember Ludd, Capsaicin, Troon, sneaksta303, Essines, asymmetrical head, but I then my mind goes blank. Don't take it personally if I don't remember you that's just brain damage from alcohol abuse!

  10. joined in 2004. posted as handsplatter back then. whenever the forum went down in 2005 I left. was working a long hour shit job back then and didn't have much free time to do internet stuff. there were also no mobile devices with fast internet back then like there are now. rejoined in 2006 because I was drunk one night and wanted to comment on something. then I didn't really post too much until I got sucked back a few years back, thanks to all the political threads that popped up on here whenever dumbo became president. I go in phases with electronic music. sometimes I hardly listen to it...

  13. Bipolar with audio can be really useful with time based effects like reverb and delay. Belnding two different reverbs that were fed normal and inverted versions of the same signal adds all kids of unpredictable phasing and stuff. With a true stereo reverb, you can send a mono signal to one input but invert it at the other input. It doesn't work with reverbs that sum the input to mono internally, though - that's how I accidentally found out the OTO Bam isn't actually a true stereo effect. Also, you could do mid/side easily with a bipolar matrix mixer.

  15. Its in the Allen Strange book about matrix mixers. Some strange ghostly sounds you can get. I can't find the section. There is a term for it. Ill report back when I find it. Ao with bipolar you could get some phasing effects maybe? I could see the worth for CV. Im curious how it opens up for audio. You could send audio to monitors in rooms and mike up the rooms with sm57s. All with that mixer. Use effects and play with feedback that way. There is the pea soup thing I want to try. Great little article on feedback; http://www.nicolascollins.com/texts/peasouphistoryOLD.pdf Im trying to trust my ears. I send...

  25. Confirmed - I have tried clearing system caches, but it seems this latest update has borked the Tomorrow's Harvest theme (even though an update for it was issued with the Forum update). I'll send screenshots to the vendor to see what is needed to resolve.

  27. Seriously... does anyone know who made this? afaik its a fan made thing? One of my favorite music videos of all time and I cant believe someone just whipped this up out of nowhere... Some of my favorite bits is that tunnel like thing in the middle that keeps rotating with the beats, and at 2:16 when the thick lines start to distort with the swirling noise, and then the thin white lines appear in the background in sync with the drums. Pretty mad how someone captured the essence of an Ae track like this

  28. i miss the old video for pir which was that crawling bit of lines branching out w/names of drugs at each branch. ah... still on daily motion.

  29. This is really good, thanks for sharing. I like how it takes aesthetic cues from the ep7 and Chiastic era album covers and does a bunch of cool twisted shit with them.
