  1. yeah, i noticed that too with the first ep (coming in here where there may be spoilers i'm risking it, heh, didn't know the next one was out already, so i've already scored). Whether it's intentional or due to the necessity for plot flow and development, the result is that it adds an interesting dynamic to the viewing experience. /orsumdleetbsheh
  2. I saw him at a festival as well once a couple of years later still the 90's and he was doing an acoustic only set and Lee Ronaldo (or thurston moore i can't remember) came along and picked Beck up and put him in his shoulders and Beck started playing a song whilst held aloft like that, it was a bit of a kack. Kind of made of for his acoustic set being kind of lame, haha. (not that i don't like his acoustic stuff, just wasn't feeling his effort that day, maybe he was hungover, hence the teasing from the sonic youth peepa that had been watching from the side of the stage. Saw Sonic Youth that evening, they were pretty fucking on it.
  3. The plot mentioned that the park has a lot of levels, so perhaps westworld isn't the only possible experience. The have just focused on the westworld activities and creature building because it was salient to the plot. Maybe the whole thing is on a space station ? Then again this is all bunk, the levels are all underground the fascility that is built atop that bluff and probably strictly service westworld. I'd imagine that there's service tunnels and so forth under the entirity of westworld, that's how they can stage an intervention when something goes wrong, with reasonable speed.
  4. lol, my local shopping mall says different. Although it's kind of true, when i go to shopping malls that are a bit more far flung, where the little people live. There are creatures walking around that one would never encounter closer to my area. Weird lookin' creatures. it's interesting how different people live, dress, act, etc. depending on where they live, even within the same states, metroplexes, etc. body types, heights, proportions and shapes vary a lot IRL. that's why I find caricatures in cartoons sometimes more reflective of real people than the average tv show. Bob's Burgers is a good example. so i thought the scene with the average / regular looking androids wasn't surprising at all. though less frequent there are sex and nudity scenes in game of thrones with women who are not absurdly attractive, fit, and pristine shaven vixens. same with other shows like true blood and boardwalk empire. westworld has a lot of extras in town as well and the fact that there's a basement of regular looking androids just enhances the eerie fact that they are indistinguishable from actual living humans. You're on point about cartoons having more license to draw archetypes from real. When hollywood hires actors they have seem to have different criteria and priorities in mind. Plus maybe really 'odd' looking people don't go to acting school very often, so there's a dearth of the salt of the earth in the casting book.
  5. It seems kind of like a personal moment too. Why is it on the internet !?
  6. Yeah, i saw him in '94 too, in canberra. I was the only guy dancing, with cigarette in one hand in drink in the other. I think people were always pussies, i just forgot and it's just more obvious now cause they pile up the front so that they can find a good position to video the show from which fucks over those that actually wanna enjoy the actual show.
  7. agreed. at first I was sticking two fingers up at the fashion victims buying the tapes....yeah....fuck you mate!!....stick your hipster tapes where the sun don't shine!!! now I'm a bit sad and wish I had took a chill pill and bought 'em. foolish wolf. Stay strong man. I ordered something earlier this year which was LP (don't have a record player, tape (don't have a tape player), and CD), it didn't even end up arriving, which was minorly annoying, but whatever., their email was so proforma and the left hand didn't seem to know what the right was doing, even though i'd paid them but whatever. Anyway, that's besides the point for my point, stay strong, wait for the digitals to come along. It's the same musics. When you are a pensioner, i doubt that they'll sell for much more than you bought them for, maybe they'll be worthless as there'll be noone around that gives a toss. This is not to cast aspersions at those that like buying physical, i can see the appeal of stuff.

  10. now i've got to look up clature to see if it has a stand alone meaning and whether i can make a pun out of it. This wasn't the plan for the rest of my day damnit. hahah
  11. Yeah, but we're music dudes, so we've gotta comment on the music and be distracted by it etc. No shame in that. heh.
  12. Well that explains that then. (that it sounded like the game of thrones opening) I wonder if he wrote something more original for it but the producers of the show hammered down his throat that they hired him specifically because they wanted something that was 'like the game of thrones intro'. And so he got to work just rearranging the notes in the main melody, changing the packaging a little and we ended up with what we ended up with.
  13. good work. it's nice just to see someone just having fun with their posting without an agenda or malevolent disposition.
  14. That's john mcafee that spotted that in a store and posted it on his twitter. You made her eyes bigger ?
  15. Well i watched it, didn't cause any skimming, so there's not complaints for me so far, just curious to see what happens. That rolling stones reworking was terriblol though, whomever composed that little thing really doesn't get it. And the intro music is a musical play on the game of thrones intro. They should have had western music or spagetti western music, would have been epically cool, really transition your mind into the world. But instead they went with some safe, sounds like option. that frankly put me in a bad mood going in. Anyway, the acting was good, the plot moved along, the script wasn't clunky, the CG was seamless and it was shot nicely, so yeah, i didn't have to skim, which is a blessing these days.
  16. /goes round bcm's house to have a listen. brings vodka
