  1. The Crichton book, State of Fear might be of interest to some watmmrs. As for this program, i will check out the first ep, hopefully it doesn't lead to skimming, be nice to have some serious, hard adventure sci-fi, one can hope.
  2. There's no way this wasn't a drunk post, it was self evident. As long as you had a good night, didn't break too many hearts. [-;
  3. Yes, congratulations music, wherever you are, for being music and having a day. ?! heh.
  4. bitter lake was so pointless that i don't need to know what this guy thinks about the topic that he's purporting to be delving into. I suggest that it will be an insight free zone, filled with a plethora of connections that don't actually lend any weight or credence to his overall argument, but their sheer volume and cavalier use will convince the weak minded whom are easily bamboozled by the bombastic and the fantastic. So it will be those that he is criticizing that will most buy into his argument, an argument which will likely have no point other than the revelation that 'meh, things suck and stuff happened'. Of course it might be fun, with lots of unseen archival footage and have a nice soundtrack, getting back to a form which he has not regained since Century of the Self. Really though, books and long form interviews with the interesting are the best way to find things out. Documentaries are an awesome medium but the mainstream doesn't make anything worthwhile these days.
  5. Well i wasn't gonna watch it, but now i'm really not gonna watch it. I wonder how many years till the reboot where we're told that it will be 'smart' and 'cater to the real sci-fi fans'. There's so much sci-fi out there in novel form, why don't they just adapt something half decent. I spose most of hollywood's bigwigs really don't understand the genre, so that's why it continues to not happen and we'll just have to wait till CG becomes photoreal with low rendering times and there's oodles of sharable assets and some creative people can fund a campaign to make a visual rendering of something from the massive untouched sci-fi cannon.
  6. spider babies? It looks to me like some late sixties/seventies sci/fi lander craft or life pod dwelling on an harsh cratered atmosphereless moon or planetscape, good work turning the image upside down for dat perspective.
  7. gotta throw an actual classic in there ..
