The sound output on iPods is obviously affected by the quality of your headphones. If you're using something with good isolation and bass response, I really can't notice the difference on the go (of course I have hearing damage and tinitis so..). But seriously apple makes a quality product, I just wish the iPhone battery would last long goddammitt!

nice timing, i just downloaded the first Rebuild of Evangelion film You Are (Not) Alone , and have only had time to skim thru it. so far it's not the shiny CG remake i expected, but almost a frame by frame retelling. the Angels do look a bit better rendered but i heard the story doesn't really change until parts 3 & 4. below: left=old right =new

just found Macross Frontier series which has some awesome space fights, and Moribito, which is from the team who did the Ghost in the Shell TV series.

anyone watching anything new that's worth passing along? i'm into the Freedom series right now, mostly bc of Otomo's design work, and catching up on Ghost Hound. is that Sword of the Stranger movie any good? The Sky Crawlers is the next big release i'm looking forward to but i'm always open to new titles.

the series is more of a cop show, but shows much more of the 2032 world. in some ways, i think it's superior to the movies, just bc you don't have Oshii's requisite moping scenes and musical interludes.
