In binary a kilobyte contains 1024 bytes, in decimal only 1000. It depends on how it's displayed. It's one of those pesky artefacts from the early days of computers...

so i was wondering why he seemed to have uploaded box remix again. he had already uploaded it (i have it as number 252 of his sc dump). i did the audio inversion thing to see if there were differences in the waveform, but it looked like no. but, then it looked like richard "reposted" (sc "share"?) it yesterday which piqued my curiosity again. anyway, my finding is that the filesize is different. the new upload is 10,014 kb, the 252th upload was 9.72 mb.
idk if anything is different, but i can say it sounds good
It's probably the same file though. That 9.72 Mb is probably in binary and does correspond with 10,014 kb.
Don't mean to kill the buzz...

As this is becoming the de facto all-purpose Tortoise subforum, this might be a good place to ask : I’ve been bothered by the drum loop in this 2007 Jérôme Minière remix, which I’ve always felt lifted from a Tortoise track — but I just can’t track it down. I might have just dreamed it... Any idea?
Nothing concrete, but it sounds like early Tied & Tickled Trio to me. Maybe something off their first album?

I went to see them on their 2016 tour in Antwerp, Belgium. It was a good show, but so straaange...
John Herndon was on something that night. Probably he was super drunk, cause he was waddling all over the stage. At some point he nearly fell down with his synth and all, but recovered just in time. At the end of the show he bolted out backstage, probably to puke his guts out... He did however manage to do an encore. Throughout their performance his fellow musicians looked somewhat vicariously ashamed, though they did keep their stoic cool. The audience must have felt the cringe (I know I did), but was quite forgiving overall.
Like I said, good show. Certainly money's worth.

I wish I could ask them again about this. I always wondered if those bell-like sounds are gamelan, and if they borrowed them from Squarepusher who brought them from Asia. Could they be the same as the ones used in 'Gong acid'?

Wasn´t there some bad blood between AE and THT after the 03/05-releases? Something about AE not getting paid.
That was someone else's doing, apparently. The guy running the label Phonometrography took off after that release and left things hanging.

(See explanation in profile)
I don't believe this caused bad blood between Autechre and h³o as this happened on their first collab. The other two followed nonetheless, albeit on another label.

well, isn't it basically just a mashed up mixtape (although a highly sophisticated one, as such)? So it's all basically samples, no?
It is, but there are the ones we recognize

yall hearin this?? was always a fan of how much it sounded like they scratching over 7th slip
Yes, definitely. Heard that too. There's also a sample starting at 6:07 that they used in 'A1' from Gescom's 'A1-D1'.

I've updated the AMKS.live.archive Youtube page with last nights transmission:
Enjoy.
Great, thanks for doing this!
Would it be too much to ask if you could share the file for download? (Pretty please...)
-
Swam may have recorded it. I hope it worked with all the technical crap going on.
-
Gescom's at 2100H, right?

Yusss!!! Massive thanks!
I can't find any other sources than the ones posted here and in the other thread. October 3rd I found on Reddit I believe.
There were problems with the broadcast (can't remember which day), so that might explain some of the missing bits?
I just saw your YT channel. Nicely done! Perhaps you'll get some help there finding complete recordings.

No info, strangely enough... Maybe Andy Maddocks himself trying things out? Wasn't that the time the broadcast was all stuttery?
