  1. I prefer Egyptian-themed CN over space-themed CN (which is still pretty great of course), so this is a most welcomed album.
  2. does this belong to any wave (yet)? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyo7AbfNRHM
  3. That's the silliest thing I've heard today (and like Alice, I try to believe seven impossible things before breakfast) - he created the music - you don't think he would simply transfer the files or use the master DATs (depending on how old they are) to create files he can DJ with on a laptop? The track names came from Richard - he obviously dug up his masters and got the track names off that, and had Grant send me the ripped files with names included. The super-special terms of the super-exclusive agreement between WATMM and Rephlex meant that the audio had to come from the particular copy for sale. Yeah. That's exactly the point - this was not a release of the music - this was a semi-official bootleg authorised by the label. Just like a bootleg, the masters were not (and could not) be used. That's all record label legalities, and really not important, though. "could not" as in they just chose not to, right? All to keep in line with the game of this fan-initiative? I've been involved in small companies distributing works of media and I don't see what the legal problem would be. they're all just a bunch of dudes, not some faceless chain-of-command that needs a lot of papers signed to get any decision made (in other words they are reasonable people?). So if they wanted to the use masters, why couldn't they? (I ask this more out of interest in legal issues than out of any criticism towards this release's modus operandi; for all I care they could have done it as a 3th gen copied cassette only release)
  4. Hello, I just discovered Aphex Twins last week and they're a pretty good band (I been listening to Come To Papa all week, but the Drugqs double CD is pretty good as well). I read in the news that his new album Caunstig Windows LP is coming out soon and I couldn't be more pumped! Where can I pre-order???? All you guis seem to have it ordered allreaddy, I checked itunes store its not there pleas *reads the rules*
  5. Well, it's a sort of feature compilation of short films really. It's by definition mostly shitty with only a few highlights. On the other hand, that makes the bad chapters more easily skippable than in one coherent feature film that's mostly shit but has one or two amazingly cool scenes (like The Power or Soul Vengeance). Oh, the times I've sat through 80 minutes of horrible boredom, only to catch a couple of minutes of unforgettable cinematic madness.
  6. Best one I've heard yet was the ol' "wayne gretzky on steroids" http://i.imgur.com/ND1hRrN.jpg Anyway, listening advice is making me hungry for more! Wisp pls, bandcamp release with Solstice Lore on it? Pretty pretty please! I want it in my ears and brain.
  7. I've seen Listening Advice being passed around here, back in the day. Now who has it? I think I only have the So Much I Think Of You track somewhere.
  8. On another note, I wonder if in Japan there will soon be blogs, similar to the western engrish.com etc, which will be indexing all the hilariously random misuses of Japanese grammar/characters in (among other things) vaporwave album- and track-titles.
  9. This is one of the first things from this genre/scene/whatever that got me excited. Any more recommendations for stuff that isn't just re-edited or filtered old material? (because seriously, why not just listen to the actual 90s Japanese VHS commercial tunes directly?) I'm already checking out what else this Zoology label has to offer. you've seen BLANK BANSHEE right? I vaguely remember having heard it (not via watmm I think, probably bumped into it tumblr-wise) and getting more a (contemporary-ish?) hip-hop vibe from it. (Which in itself is cool of course.) Will look into it again. And Ferraro was completely unknown to me. Thanks!

  13. I recieve them by e-mail I know this is from Frankenhooker
  14. From what little of this video I could be bothered to watch, this character somehow reminds me of Dick Tremayne from Twin Peaks. Thanks, Mr Scott, but no thanks.
  15. nsfwatmm. too suggestive. I needed something to divert attention from the mummy-fetish pic.
