Listened to a Brussels bootleg last night, pretty awesome. I hear hints of scratching, grooviness, vocals and vocoders (all warping along the event horizon of a black hole of course). The intentional structure of these live sets start to jump out me: the first half hour often seems like its an intentional slow build up, around the 30 min mark is usually some wild left turn. In this one, I particularly like the melodic post-climax outro.... Ends on an optimistic note after all the oblivion. I often think of sunlight peaking through clouds when hearing their later era stuff. Probably due to the suppressed melodies. Cool stuff.

Lately, I have been a bit obsessed with the works of Eliane Radigue, getting lost in those long drones. There is a very specific quality that I can't put into words, and I can rarely find elsewhere. Can anyone recommend more things that sound like this? -

Here is a soothing ambient track, where I tried to sonically translate the image in the display picture into sound. -
After rewatching the Jodorowsky Dune documentary I came away with 2 things: 1) that movie had no chance in hell of getting made. Made for an entertaining documentary at the very least. 2) Jodorowsky is cringey. out of his mind, but not in a cool eccentric way Anyways, Dune 2: Opening scene kicked ass. Still think the score is the weakest part of it.

https://elikeszler.bandcamp.com/album/live-2-1 "A drumset sits on the stage unaccompanied during these concerts. There is naturally an anticipation for a specific kind of music because of this, and at that a music on spec no one really wants to listen to...? I don't even really like drum solos funnily enough..." LIVE 2 is the second in a series of double albums from solo percussionist Eli Keszler. Side A was recorded at Alice in Copenhagen, Denmark 03/06/2023; Side B at The Jewels of Toyama in Tokyo, Japan 25/05/2023 as part of MODE Festival.

it hit me today how good mirrage is.

Pretty stuff. May not become more than that, but hey, sometimes that is good enough.

That vinyl design is super impressive, more so than the music... IMHO Hans is incapable of subtlety... Part two was amazing, if a bit exhausting. Pummels you with sound. Still trying to process it.

One song released so far from a forthcoming EP. I wasn't sure at first but have had it on loop. For fans of Coh, coil, synth pop, glitch, etc... https://wavetrap.bandcamp.com/album/will-laut-ep

I think I'm good with never hearing that spray can rattle sound again.

after 3 listens, the best part for me is the penderecki string action in bending hectic. the rest is nice but a bit sleepy, and not in the cool Talk Talk way. much preferring jonny greenwood's soundtracks these days...

Here as a spacey industrial drone number. Have been listening to a lot of COIL lately so I think it rubbed off -
Someone is not part of the IDM fashion newsletter.... Ponytails and flip flops are out, bucket hats are IN.

Damn love that spooky synth weaving in behind the acid line. Definitely feeling a bit dirtier and looser than the previous album. Nice crunchy textures. He's still got it, baby.

This is really hitting the spot for me this morning. Constant tension between an obscure transmission and something more profound.

Traditional Synthesizer Music is perfect and maybe his most accessible! Cavalcade of Glee... and Detrimentalist are up there too. But depending on my mood, I might want something more challenging: Songs about my cats, Huge chrome cylinder box unfolding. The last two tracks on Meathole are so good, that might shoot up my list in the future.
