This is out today. Does nothing for me on first listen. I thought the slow spookiness of the first album felt very unique and distinct from The Knife. This feels like worse callbacks with diminishing returns. A bit harsh atm, but will give it a few more listens.

The execution of the cover is a little odd, which is unusual since Dopplereffekt usually nail that. I am sometimes underwhelmed by their beat-less stuff, but it has grown on me. Some of this could be an alternate soundtrack to Escape from New York."Visual Cortex" is particularly nice.

Universal Cleaner — Fluxus Deluxus (self-released)
gnarlybog replied to gnarlybog's topic in EKT New Releases
Permit me once more to disrupt the serenity of your daily life with my artistic delusion. A friend was nice enough to make a music video for a song off of the record. Electro meets something that would play at a bowling alley in japan. Here is a track that didn't make the cut due to pacing reasons, but I still like. Was listening to a lot of venetian snares at the time. Also attached are a few album cover drafts that didn't make the cut. -
Hello, my new IDM/braindance/ambient techno album is out today on bandcamp, spotify, tidal, apple music, etc. Written in Berlin, Lausanne and a small polish village entirely in Renoise. I did 50 drafts of this album cover... Mamma mia. Cheers. Here is a short music video for an interlude track. Basically a mega mix of DOS viruses. Here is a promo video I shared on social media to get a few people excited ?

Nice to see this post. Aside from autechre, easily my favourite music group. I believe this was originally planned for 2019/2020. I had the pleasure of seeing them in 2011 or so. Hope they eventually do a final leg in europe! Would also love one more album but it doesn't look so likely. Then again, they released several albums after one of the most acrimonious band breakups I can recall.

It's funny... the art direction for a few of his albums often feels like 'here is this random guy. interested?' Also, don't want to get all Woodward & Bernstein but I just discovered that his first name is Chris instead of Clark? Insane.

I am guessing this is some sort of Psychic TV reference? -
Loscil & Lawrence English - Colours Of Air by [Kranky]
gnarlybog replied to Scaramouche's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Loscil is super consistent. Maybe one of my top ambient artists. He will be playing live near me in March... might check it out (if the venue lets me bring in pyjamas, a blanket and a glass of warm milk to really get cozy). But yes, this release is very nice. Ambient is sort of like perfume — you don't remember anything about until it's in the room. Ephemeral but very appreciated.- 9 replies

Love the soft sounds peeking in the background of these tracks. While at moments I am reminded of the NTS sessions, I think there is a great variety of unique contrasting textures kicking around. The production quality sounds very good on headphones. in general. Nicely done!

Congrats on the release! A very cool aesthetic — you have you're own unique vibe. Would be a great soundtrack for future DOOM games ?

I watched The Last of Us the way modern tv is meant to be experienced: through a streaming site with the browser window at half width and another browser open playing Tetris. Never played the games. The girl might be very annoying as the show goes on. Props for the Depeche Mode drop at the end. Cool vibes.

Wow, I never listened to him much but did not expect to find such an industrial banger in track 07.

bumping this to remind watmm that the first track is an absolute monster.

I willingly submitted myself to this because I like the original and Rob Delaney is a funny guy... Slightly more enjoyable than laying facedown on a busy road.

https://doonkanda.bandcamp.com/album/galatea This came out on Nov 15. Formerly Arca's go-to visual guy, which is why the cover art rocks. In my opinion, this is their strongest release yet. Loose melodies with very interesting sound design and textures.

Yes, its very annoying... although it makes sense when trying to get people's attention on newsfeeds. albums drop and are forgotten two days later. The first album felt so original. I definitely over listened to it. The 2nd one was interesting but felt a bit like reheated leftovers of Silent Shout in a weird way?

What were the intolerant statements, out of curiosity? The live show from the first tour was very impressive. A bunch of ornate lamps on the stage with a lot of fog. Felt like I was on the boat from the original mortal kombat movie.

I like the first track, it reminds me of early Vladislav Delay at times. 'Fragments of a Butterfly's Face' is also nice. The repeating sample in Dream is pretty annoying so that one is a skip from me.

Ahah, Wondergan definitely. Imaging an old school record producer with a ponytail putting their hand over the mixer and nodding 'no' to Plaid. Overall it's a pleasant listen. C.A. is the standout for me right now. The album art hits my aesthetic sweet spot (cryptic futurism). The back cover is particularly nice.

Rolando Simmons - Human Remains (November 4, 2022)

Dang this is some funky, squiggly stuff. My favourite I've heard from him so far.
