  1. guess i shouldn't wait to visit too many parks
  2. you may be thinking of this tweet, made hours after reporters reached out to him for comment about the story on a stewardess's accusation, which was published the next day. or you may be thinking of the news breaking that musk seems to have had an affair with amber heard while she was married to johnny depp. that broke around apr 15. musk made an offer to buy twitter on apr 15.
  3. interesting, well put. it's people still going by consensus that scares me, because consensus is hacked. we need to hasten the shift to a modern mindset among everyone. each must view info like a detective. it's absolutely an unbelievable time to be alive. we have utopia on the horizon, and solvable problems between us and that. it's a ground game. we have to do the work. to state this directly: we must continue and hasten spreading the word, which is: how to not eat bullshit. it may be the golden age of history now, so far. also there is great risk, and damage being done. actions taken or not taken now impact climate in ways that will not produce results for years, but those results are coming. we have already caused sea rise that comes on a delay. we've got feedback loops that will make climate destabilization feed on itself as we try to slow it. the info haze has dulled people to the most severe alarms - within the range of possible risk is honestly inconceivable calamity for the people living at the end of this century and in the next century. so the delusions are a real problem, though we are not without hope. we get to be here to help decide which way things go. putin needs to be viewed as a nuclear hitler. the world needs to remain resolved on russian forces being driven out of ukraine. it will be hard to take the bone from the dog's mouth.
  4. i can reassure sean that plus did not need to be trimmed down.
  5. it was a big hearing, even among these big hearings. tuesday's hearing with meadows aid cassidy hutchinson gave us a pretty good look at the inner circle before and during january 6th, and what she revealed includes some really crazy stuff. the hearings are having an impact. in addition to the public impact, we are seeing doj take the info dump from the house committee and run with it. they raided clark and eastman last week. here's the hutchinson testimony, which is incredibly raw and dramatic. it's not 6 hours, if you skip to the hearing, it's 90 minutes.
  6. cassidy hutchinson's testimony today was nuts. from 1:08:50 to 2:55:00, with a 15 minute break. well worth the watch the january 6th committee hearings have been momentous and well done, but this one has been maybe the biggest for me. a lot about the inner circle and some dark stuff.
  7. we're already in a very dark place. we're there. people are ready to vote out biden and let desantis get in there because the disinfo works. information has been electrified so that the masses are afraid to touch it. just buffalo being herded off cliffs, with a narrow window of hope. the next 4 months, the next year, the next few years, the next 5-10 years are very important for this country. i've been waiting for the gop to age out and we need to make it happen. maybe dobbs will be the decisive turn, we will see.
  8. a new ecosystem came into being (the new info realm) and we get to live through the primitive, primordial early days of a world shaped by human minds. last time it took 2 million years to learn what lessons we did.
  9. lools like we did 200 ft in 20 years and have another 200 ft to go. i think team america can get it done in 10.
  10. some of the best of richard's output. originally emerging as pre-release syro fakes, if i remember correctly (i may not), and something to do with soundcloud. https://m.soundcloud.com/richrud-d-jomes later published to the internet archive. https://archive.org/details/RIchrudD.Jomes check out final exit
  11. in the sc dump thread, when the dump was ongoing, many people said that, for many of the tracks. the modern destruction of reality may be good for techno
  12. just read the wapo article and lemoine's google doc. great read. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2022/06/11/google-ai-lamda-blake-lemoine/ this is passage of the turing test. we are now up against the question of what is consciousness. i do not discount the possibility that we could manufacture something that could be sentient. scary stuff, honestly.
  13. ok thanks i'm like 4 hours through so far
  14. did no one ask about opensourcing a version of the rig? ...
  15. this is why it matters that people police their local info sanitation. it's all connected. we probably saved the world with our shitposting.
