1. ORTEGA TACO SHELLS ARE MADE OF PEOPLE!!! ^ proof
2. rossz chocolate wheelchair pink and green EP and my downfall EDIT: Huge Chrome Cylinder Box Unfolding -- how did I miss that one thats like what 5 out of his 3,431,348,573 albums innit?
3. the perennial philosophy- Aldous Huxley I have been reading it in chunks.
4. I'll give you three who have demonstrated many times the style of hardcore muziks that you are referring to: Jodey Kendrick, Venetian Snares and Richard Devine. I don't get why people think this sound is limited to just tom n rich? In the end, who gives a shit who made it, listen to it and move on, it sounds like a lot of people to me, and I couldn't care less about who made it. Props to whomever did, but its nothing earth shattering. Let this thread die like the haggard sea-witch it is.
5. no troll. Beyond the classics already mentioned: Trojan Fader Style Formant Potaton Bounds Green the little gems he put up on youtube: His Ambient News project. All fucking gold. Even his stuff as nonprivate is fucking 1000 times more interesting than Snares' output. Thanks for that. those youtube tracks are wonderful!
6. Jelly of ur drum machines n synthescizzors. Oh, and the fact that you can afford a MacBook...
7. This is how I set up my stuff in my old house. The midi/some hardware in front of a 32" TV hooked up via HDMI. Not pictured is all the guitar gear. MSpaint is fun, but mostly to cover up the fact that I lived in a spare room with 2 decades of someone elses' junk at the time.
8. I went into this thread thinking,~~ "if I say Disintegration, I will be called names by watmmites..." thanks for giving me the strength to be okay with liking The Cure
9. He wants yon soul he will eat yon soul Come to Skrillex.
10. ^^^ the little major chord melody that goes on with the plucked synths is absolutely beautiful. It has a big happy smile behind it for sure, I think its one of the purest forms of aphex. The part in taking control towards the end when the two snares are making a nice little melody over everything is probably what inspired me to write electronic music in the first place, along with most of that album TBH... I remember when I played a few tracks of Drukqs to my father who is completely removed from any music made after computers were put into households, said it's like someone compressing 50 years of musical ideas into a few tracks, he said that it was truely the music of the future hahaha, then he heard what goes on the radio today and wondered why people dont listen to the music I like.
11. Seriously, the tracks I have heard would fit Odans sound.
12. Lol Iffy acid edit 1 sounds like a track missing from Odan's 'Charlbury Gardens' Album. Great album, but not too phexy sounding. Not AFX watmmz.
13. In the track 'euphorium' around 5:15 to 5:17 there is a voice that says the word euphorium waaaay back in the mix to the right ear. sounds like it was said by the mortal combat announcer. Felt I'd share this little easter egg.
14. well, it seems there's some discussion of the album, and there are regular, intermittent, sort of 'ego princess' check-ins, to let us know their latest stand on the album, or how 'shit' the thread is. thread is shit due to Brian and several others. but i love the album. and think you're a dick. Lol +1 Best album of 2011 for me. Lush in every way. The guy can do nothing but get better, so, its incredibly promising to the genre of music I find a bit lacking in terms of artists. I can't wait to see what else watmm shits on this next year I hope you all know Dave is probably laughing, if he even reads this.
15. Not too big a fan of his ambient stuff, but this track is fantastic. Very different from alot of his stuff I've heard.
16. ^^^ skrillex making fart sounds to sample before his set, they are necessary to sound of skrillex.
17. I guess I don't get the hate? I feel like anyone who's sat behind analog gear, sequencers, drum machines and just in general produces electronic music, would appreciate the small details, sound quality and time that obviously went into this album along with the fact that it sounds fucking massive thru a good system. Not arguing, I am just wondering what everyone keeps marking this up too like this style is so played out? You cant tell me in a show if all the sudden 'farewell frenchman' or 'euphorium' dropped in the middle of some set in a dark room, you wouldn't get an urge to move? Man, rephlex can't do anything to please anyone anymore if it taint AFX'z lol. I can't wait to hear everyone bitch and moan about +10 part two when it doesn't break musical ground on the moon Me thinks if this was dropped as an LP out of nowhere 2 or 3 years (probably like it should have) ago everyone would be all over it. Me thinks haters just be hating.
18. you're right. i'm deaf and a pretentious cunt. I really just wanted to see if you'd respond like one, no surprises there. now lets hug it out, bro
19. Just played the tracks over my monitors in a dark room, this man mixes in 3d... this I am convinced of. Absolutely lush album, for a debut artist tackling a very impressive little style. For anyone who wishes to take a stab at his melodic workings, your ears must be shit, or your head is so far up your ass, your heart must be beating too loud in your ears. Dave should be proud, there sounds like a ton of work put into this and the sounds/timbres and the drums (oh the drums) are just awesome. :)
