  1. high life - a pretensions, uninspired and meandering mess about cum doctors in space and bad rapey people. too many useless, naturalist shots of a baby, too many annoying art house mannerisms that suck all energy out of the film, and non-human, hollow dialogue.

  2. the death count is still two people by your count, and in fact we actually only see one, by the description it looks a lot like Shashenok who was found badly burnt.

If you've had a mild exposure, it may take hours to weeks before any signs and symptoms begin. But with severe exposure, signs and symptoms can begin minutes to days after exposure.

    Possible symptoms include:

    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Diarrhea
    • Headache
    • Fever
    • Dizziness and disorientation
    • Weakness and fatigue
    • Hair loss
    • Bloody vomit and stools from internal bleeding
    • Infections
    • Low blood pressure

Only two people actually died in the immediate aftermath of the explosion, one from falling debris, and another from regular thermal burns

that's exactly what's shown in the ep.

i'm following the discussion of this on some russian torrent tracker, those people are very allergic to the hollywoodization of facts when it comes to events such as those, so far i've seen no serious complaints about the accuracy. just some discussion about the causes of the accident and how much the ukranians suck.

watched the first episode of this mini series and here is what i learned:

everyone in chernobyl had a very british accent and barely spoke russian

none of the scientists or working personnel knew what a nuclear disaster meant and spent hours milling around watching people cough up blood

i think you're not quite getting how the soviet techno-bureaucrat mindset functioned given that last point.

some of the over the top theatrics in that were in bad taste, but overall it's decent. it wins you over with the atmosphere mostly, harrowing and horrifying. the score is especially great.

  5. next stage of trolling will def get me b&, lol.

(there's honestly no meanness intended jr, in case it comes off like that from my texts. it's  just good ol constructive trolling of authority)

You know - you're starting to get annoying to the point I really don't see the need to tolerate you any longer...

now imagine how long term wattmers feel when they have to tolerate an incompetent admin with rubin farr-esque level of intelligence and sense of humor for like 15 years on the site they call home...

can you link to the post? i see no option to change username in account settings, just email address and password...

phhh. you shouldn't expect enhanced functionality when you're not supporting the development and maintenance of this beautiful website in any way. shame on you for even for bringing it up.

Ah, another reason Firefox is becoming a minority in terms of browser usage. What an utterly paranoid, stupid option to have in a browser. For decades designers begged for having more control over fonts on websites, and finally in the past 5 years or so we have them and work well, and Mozilla comes along and donks it all up.

Glad to see you got it sorted out - I'm still researching the Edit BBCode option...

Oh, and that quote reducer is working quite nicely I see!

this is an apple-user mindset joyrex. it's a great future that gives control to the user (though it's on by default). that stuff is one of the reasons non-normies prefer firefox.

Also, I am not charging you for being able to change your name (as you can clearly see) - my point in asking for a subscription in exchange for the ability to do so was to convince you to pay for a service you have used without charge since 2005 in the hopes that you'd give back a bit of what WATMM has given you, which is hopefully a positive thing.

but i wasn't using it for free, i contributed a lot of my time and effort to make it what it is over the years. i also was here before 2005 and as i mentioned before donated a bit in 2010. your job is much simpler than mine, you just have to maintain a working forum (that you've failed to do at least 3 times in its history, loosing a lot of shit in the process), while i have to provide quality content. so maybe i should charge you for reading my posts?

anyway, thanks for giving me back my proper identity, lol.

Whether I could afford it or not wasn't the issue - why am I going to put the time, resources, and money into something others enjoy and I shoulder all the costs? Would you?

lol that's such an american capitalist dad attitude. it's your site and your own hobby, so why not expect from yourself to pay for your own hobby? other people are not just using it, they are enriching it as well, without other users posting here the site is worthless. so maybe it kinda evens it out at the end? you pay a little bit with money and other users are paying with the time and content they put here, when combined what we get is watmm. seems like a good deal to me for like 50$ a month or whatever you pay for it now.

i also don't need any of the features offered by "member plus" package, so maybe i could pay some fraction of 5$? by my calculations the ability to change own display name should cost about 63 cents per year (before taxes), so if you're cool with that, i can start my yearly subscription any minute now.

    have never paid

i did though, back in 2010 when you were begging people to crowdfund the whooping 50$ server costs that you could not afford for some reason.

(e)ugene - I need you to pay for a subscription to help support the site like everyone else. I will do my best to ensure that you get billed annually as well.

i'm supporting this site by adding quality film reviews and by fighting anti-semitic tendencies among the liberal millennials. that alone should give me some basic privileges, like reverting to the name i registered with instead of asking me to pay for it.

this was amazing. i highly recommend not knowing what the film is about before going into it because it's made in a way where it really packs a punch (i rarely say this but this is one of those films) but if you don't mind spoilers- or if you have seen this film:

a bunch of kids have a certain lay of land that they consider their own. it's where they play. one day, two soldiers happen upon a fort that lays within their bounder. they won't leave. in fact, they ask the kids to leave. but that can't happen. that's their territory. so the soldiers must leave.

amazing cast. amazing direction and really beautiful choreography

that's been in my bookmarks for a while, i missed the original screening and now it's not available anywhere. jews.
