it's not very albumy, i can't quite grasp what is it all about as a whole thematically/conceptually, but still pretty interesting most of the time. the second half, from warning and on, is strong. will be coming back.

I actually thought some of the background ambient soundtrack stuff in Handmaids tale was quite good... agreed that the songs suck tho ...
I gotta say I love watching Serena ... she is always great on screen ... good character
that last episode with focus on serena was probably the first decent episode in the entire show.
probably back to sitting in a bath full of vaj blood in slo-mo with a dreary score in the next one. it's actually a good metaphor for the whole show.

i tried the first ep before and ditched it. seemed very tv, kinda very obvious plot-moving writing and this indie-comedy farce that rarely works. but trying it again i thought that it's actually pretty sweet. like a tighter, better conceived take on that thing "the last man on earth" tried to do with its goofy humor and punchline-to-punchline drive.
the realization that nothing is true all of the time is what i take from this experience.

The Terror looks up my alley.
just don't ditch it when you meet this guy, it's good regardless:

it's just embarrassing. it's kinda like if your liberal black dad just discovered the afro-feminist SJW scene and just wouldn't fucking stop e-mailing you its memes.

she's gotta have it - spike's lee own remake of his older film for tv. it's really quite striking how skillful and imaginative he is as a director and how deft and light his touch is. great pacing, editing, montages, framing, photography, music and other stylistic choices working in tandem really make for a fun, brisk and engaging watch even if i don't really care for the topic much. other high-end tv outings just look like a fucking chore when compared to this.
watmm administration - please remove the quoted post.

fucking flol at filling the bottle with a court water pitcher at the hearing.

jesus, lol

netflix and other media conglomerates dropping louis ck is plain, cold capitalism, but actual reviewers reducing scores for his film because of that scandal and using it as some sort of prism to review the film from while making up ridiculous and cheap psychological analyses on the fly ( ie, the film as some kind of pre-emptive, devious and implicit statement of remorse) is just disguising.

pre r+7 opn = pre-chiastic slide ae, pleasing and derivative nostalgia milking with something much more inspired lurking underneath.
r+7 = chiastic slide, and it's where he really takes off into doing his own thing with new parameters and shit as sam mentioned back in AAA.
god = lp5 - somewhat friendlier and more approachable (though not sonically) than r+7 but still looking forward.

anyone seen the redeeming? looks promising:

played some frostpunk. very moody and atmospheric, nice artwork, writing and design. but gameplay wise, in the shadow of rimworld it seems very shallow and lacking replayability, it's all very linear and doesn't allow the player to entertain different play styles. the interface is also pretty bad and was probably the main reason i ditched it, you simply have a hard time getting the information you need to manage shit efficiently.
-
not liking opn at this point is kinda silly. the song is great.

i still don't understand this kind of music at all. listening to it is kinda like browsing facebook feeds/blogs of your relatively not stupid, sensitive and politically/culturally aware friends/family. it's all just so just boringly grounded to current daily life and overly familiar. the coolest thing about music is that it can take you places, but why would you want to be taken to your local swamp and just drown in all this contemporariness?
another question i have regarding the issue of hip hop. are white people allowed to sing along lines that have nigg* in them during the gigs?

...but the difference between 320kbps mp3 and CD audio is night and day.
Your physical and mental state have a much bigger (real, researched and demonstrated although I'm not going to bother digging up citations) effect on how you perceive sound than mp3 compression does, so if I'm going to do this I want to be rested.
That's also another reason why, on the listening end, these debates are pretty moot. Not getting enough sleep makes a bigger difference than good lossy compression does. Moving your head an inch to the right has a bigger effect than lossy compression.
i see progress.

lol

would like to blast it on speakers too, but my neighbors wouldn't take a 128kbps stream too kindly.

those woodpecker sounds are very familiar, cap iv maybe?

aren't you doing a bit of an AM/FM synthesis instead of emulating that beating thing when you do the modulate thing? the idea of beat frequency is simply two frequencies arriving at the same place. i do get the beating effect when i mix two sines in the audible range in the same manner.
-
yes you do, you'll only hear a tremolo if the difference between the 2 freqs is below the audible range...from what i gather the beat frequency will actually sound like tremolo effect, you won't magically get a tone at that frequency.
good to know it works! what soft are you using?EDIT: Doing it 'properly' and you do indeed get creation of the exact pure sine waves at the difference of the other frequency you modulate it with. Physics/Maths wins !
now i'm confused, i do what? you don't get a third tone out of combining two sines, you just get a frequency of a tremolo out of that difference. is that what you mean?
here's a file where i combined a 30 and 31khz tones. there's nothing else on the spectrum and naturally you can't hear anything.
What TV series are you watching at moment?

the americans - a few blunders (u2, paige and vodka) but otherwise both very moving and satisfying. it would be a much more crushing experience if not irl history and the fall of soviet union in just a few years. kinda wish i didn't know russian because keri russel's russian pronunciation of "we'll get used to it" felt a bit like a shart in my face.
