  1. Found a guy selling one 2nd hand, but only 5 months old and with 2 year warranty, and it has the wooden sides. Picking it up tomorrow after work
  2. I'm really won over by the fact that you can use the individual outputs as insert points to go back into the main output on the DRM. I want to start building up my collection of pedals for some nice FX...... OK well I've just convinced myself to buy the DRM then
  3. Actually just seen a 2nd hand TR-626. This would be a good combination from what I've read no?
  4. The monomachine does look like fun, but I love the idea of having something where I can't save shit. I've either gotta remember, or just record it. Sometimes I tweak stuff too much and don't commit, and the few times I've borrowed some gear I've always got better songs having had to make recordings knowing I can't go back to it later. I don't know Experimontag, I'll have to check that out for sure. My buddy runs the Contort parties @ OHM which are always good, plus the sound there is fucking great I think.
  5. Yeah that's the only thing. But I fucking love it so much, so it's very tempting, just trying to figure out what would be the best sequencer for it (and what budget I can stretch to!). I know it's possible to use the Push which is a backup option too.
  6. not really at the moment, unfortunately.. Mostly doing software stuff. Basically I started out making software in order to be able to come up with cool live audiovisual things, but the programming totally developed a life of its own. Would need a month or two of free time to just focus on creating a liveset I can live with.... Do you? Maybe we could meet for a jam or something, did that a lot in Cologne and really miss it. No though it's something I wanna start doing. I only DJ occasionally which is fun but not really the same (plus it's not really the same music). Trouble is I don't have any hardware right now, just controllers. Having said that I am going to buy something this month as I have about €750 saved up. Just trying to decide what to get. Can't decide between a drum machine or synth. I want both really but right now I have to pick. Got my eye on maybe the Vermona DRM1 MkIII or the MFB Tanzbär. Not sure synth-wise though..... if anyone has any suggestions? There's not enough experimental stuff in Berlin for me, would love to get something live going with someone.
  7. Phling - do you play live or anything in Berlin?
  8. Some decent pubs in Market Harborough if I remember correctly. I grew up in Rugby, sure I remember heading to Market Harborough when we wanted a fancy lunch.
  9. Fuck that looks so sexy.
  10. I can safely say it caters to any fetish.
  11. ^Speaking of fun rooms....
  12. You need to go to better fucking clubs mate.
  13. Yes. Definitely want to hear this.
  14. This just shows how far removed you are from actually listening to music, as also evidenced by your embarrassing reaction to the DJ tool. Not every piece of music is fucking meant to be listened to sat down like some fucking academic analysis. You misunderstood again. Do you know what "tension" is? It is an emotion that you get from amazing, flawless music. An emotion that force you to listen carefully no matter what. You don't have a need to dance or do anything else because the music is so fucking amazing that you simply don't move and just listen and then maybe cry or something when it's over. But I guess you have never experienced it because you distract yourself with forced dancing and other stuff. Otherwise the music would be boring for you I guess. It is a similar thing as drinking/doing drugs in order to have fun in a collective. Otherwise the people would be boring again. And you know why people like you does it? Because you have a low standard and because you are unwilling to search for a better one. Let the shitstorm begin. No mate, you misunderstand again. The way you insist on there can be only one listening manner to discern a good track is fucking ridiculous. And not to mention as if music can never be so fucking amazing that it would coerce your whole body into moving and dancing. I've been to noise gigs before where I've just had to move, and dance because the energy created was just so intense. But it wasn't just the music. It was the sheer fucking volume/the venue/the lighting.... everything was making my body scream. None of which would happen if I was sat at home. Fourtet based all his EQ on some tracks from playing them at clubs, not in the studio, because it was not the environment for which it is intended. Kraftwerk went to clubs to listen to music, to see how music was actually absorbed by others; not in a sterile environment of a studio, but out in the real fucking world, where other stimuli combine. Why the fuck would anyone make a techno track and then work out if it was any good by sitting at home, without any other stimulus? No-one would ever listen to that music like that, why place boundaries on something, when those boundaries are of no relevance whatsoever. That extra 16 bars that might seem excessive sat at home? They probably fucking work in another environment. You cannot judge a track like that. And thinking there is ONLY music, and nothing else which impacts the enjoyment of it, is silly and myopic. Even Autechre doing the whole "play in the dark, it's all about the music" thing, is still subject to other stimuli than just the music. Fuck, just the general atmosphere of everyone being on a similar level of concentration gives songs a completely different feeling which is just not possible at home. Any by the way; I occasionally dance because the music makes me, though normally I just stand there). I've been the only one in a group not on drugs many times. I go to clubs for the music, and that alone. I was hoping you wouldn't be so obvious in your comeback.
  15. I have a lot of hate for music released just because their producers had fun making it while jamming a physically exciting piece of gear... What wankers! Having fun making music and thinking there might be someone else who also likes it! Vile creatures. This just shows how far removed you are from actually listening to music, as also evidenced by your embarrassing reaction to the DJ tool. Not every piece of music is fucking meant to be listened to sat down like some fucking academic analysis. Or people are caught up in enjoying something and figure they'd see if others will enjoy it too. Sometimes you just like something and you wanna share it. Not everyone has your level of ego within themselves.
  16. That snare is lovely.
  17. The internets tell me less than 10 were built!? Sounds immense.
  18. Where is that arpeggio loop from? Recognise that so much. EDIT: Ahh just realised it's a Pink Floyd jam.
  19. If I could play keyboard I'd buy one of these in a second, thought they sounded very good, the CP especially.
  20. Damn that looks fun, don't have any hardware but would love to see how that runs with Ableton
  21. Personally I find it very difficult to create anything when it sounds like shit. And given how much effort I put into mixing (which I also enjoy), it makes sense to have a sweet spot that I work in.
  22. Yeah, I pretty much want that room.
  23. What are the amp (or filter) envelopes on that bad boy? everything except Z: Z: A is connected to pitch envelope: A and E are connected 70% to LFO 2 which is on slowest unsynced rate Dude this is magnificent. Sounds lovely, across all octaves too. We should have an FM8 patches thread or something. Would love to hear more watmm sounds.
