I like the album. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel let down a bit. There are spots of genius (Altibzz, Simmm, Paralel Suns, Rale, Fol3, Tankakern, last two tracks) but otherwise the other tracks are okay. I dunno, I hope it grows on me more. Doesn't touch Untilted, Confield, Draft EP7, LP5 or Chiastic though.
Also, I'm one of the few I think who wished the Untilted tour bits stayed away from the album.
Are you referring the snippet Ghosbusters3 shared?
Well I shut it off as soon as it started to play, so I don't really know what that was. But I doubt that GBIII is lying about it.
If there's one thing I know, it's that GBIII NEVER lies.
I WISH MARY ANNE HOBBS WOULD SHUT THE FUCK UP
Also Rook, I'm a man on the move, I find your comments about people listening to music while walking to work or whatever offensive. Well, I don't. But I prefer to listen to music on the move, gives me something to enjoy while walking.
In closing,
Fuck you RookHello Rook!
I've heard this watermarking on Myspace, where a robot voice says "This track is copyright of Albert McCockface" every thirty seconds or so. It's stupid.
Also, there is no such artist as Albert McCockface to my knowledge... yet.
This album is brilliant. I still feel like Maphive is completely underrated, or undermentioned or something.
Also in my eyes the only repetitive thing about Outpt is the beat, I don't find it boring and repetitive in the same way I find drum and bass boring and repetitive. It's like the beauty's in the simplicity and subtlety of the tune. It wouldn't be the same if the beat wasn't so repetitive, it'd be worse. I love Outpt.
Also I'm sick of writing repetitive.
This album and his last were horrificly overrated in my opinion. Burial frustrates the shit out of me because he makes some wicked tunes, but fucks it up with shitty vocal samples for the most part. And his samey beats can get old quick, but I like how rough around the edges his music sounds.
I think when they said that they meant early stuff as in pre-Autechre stuff. I could be wrong, but if you listen to Lego Feet it kinda indicates that sort of sound in places.
