Played this free little thing last weekend, despite the 'yeah I've literally seen all that already many many times' premise it really nails the perfect vibe in game form for its 30-ish minutes lifespan. Definitely recommended for a quick little diversion if your machine is up to the challenge (the post-processing and rendering pipeline is quite a burden on the GPU)

It also made me think, IMO this game I loved in the 90s (and still enjoy) was the ultimate 'liminal space' game before the liminal space thing hit the zeitgeist (is that the word?) - Would love them to remake this in full VR-like 3d:
wow this music hit me right in the feels. Reminds me of playing Myst and the lot as a kid Does this run on modern computers? I got a 14 inch trinitron recently and I've been meaning to play some older games like this on it. I'm not too interested in the one on Steam tbh, the liminal horror fad just reminds me of Tiktok now lol

Dragon's Dogma 2 is pretty fun but after 50 hours the running around gets really tiring. A mount would've been sweet. Besides the combat the whole thing feels a bit like watered down western fantasy which is a bit of a shame

As long as the models are trained with what exists, they won't make anything resembling creativity. Yes, you can add all kinds of randomness, overlap and whatnot to get X in the style of Y, but it will still be a computed pastiche by a machine without introspection. The reason these tracks sound so bland is that there are no artists, no producers, no musicians, no audience, no feedback of any kind, just regression towards the lowest common denominator. Most (popular) music is bland by design, appealing to the aforementioned lowest common denominator - formulaic, harmless, innocuous, inoffensive - geared to make people think that million flies can't be wrong. Now that the LLMs are already cannibalizing their own creations, the regression is just getting worse.
"Computers are useless. They can only give you answers." -- Pablo Picasso.
I always circle back around this topic with one simple idea, imagine if we fill museums only with AI art from now on. There will never be another era of art, it will until the end of time–in the current form of machine learning– be a machine circlejerk that eventually reinterprets its own art because no more new things are put into museums, at which point its creativity will regress even further. Complete shitshow this and it's already happening in a smaller fashion with people hyping up AI art and not being familiar with the subject matter it was trained on

I still get breastfed.
But who will breastfeed you until 2081? Or is your gran involved somehow, sharing eternal youth with your mother? So many questions

Nahh that Simpsons remix was funny and meant to be sarcastic. Love hudmo's sense of humor
I did not find it funny Good to know though. On topic, what you wrote here made me think:

I already can't stomach most of the music in the charts, there's not really much creative difference listening to these AI songs and actual overproduced garbage. Just the image of a non-music-snob listening to AI music not realizing it at all is kinda weird and probably already happening

Well yeah. Valid point. My profile would be long gone if it wasn't the only platform my grandparents know how to use. But yeah. It'll be gone soon

This was on my Facebook feed today. It was ringing all my AI picture alarm bells but the hands are correct, the shadows align for the most part. The diner logo photoshopped on is the only thing that stood out at first, but I'm preeetty sure the whole thing is just one ChatGPT/Dall*E process. I'm honestly so done with social media at the moment, the amount of generated content is getting extremely uncomfortable to see when you realize just how much of it is there. I'm so glad I was born before this era of phones being glued to our faces. Fuck this shit

yo... my yos, brothas and sistas, here´s some fine dark ambient... Literally the sound of madness.
sounds more like cheesy detective music than madness to me. Inspector Calamari and his nightly ventures. Raise a glass of wine, Maria Antonia. The dogs are barking and this detective is about to solve some crime up in this bitch.
