I was thinking about reading this next, so I shall take this as a sign and do so..........I hear it is his most frightening novel. PKD felt that he shouldn't have written it, that is was some sort scourge he let loose on the world by writing it. All the more intriguing! it's in my bookshelf, I should go and read this. bought it a year ago I think.. was watching that documentary about him yesterday and he did indeed say that.

well when they decided the building was going to be destroyed for if they finally get some sort of new use for the ground it's on (which could take ages, hence guys like me living here for loooow rent), they removed all central heating.. I don't think there will be any plumbers coming around anytime soon just to check if everything is running optimally.. would be interesting to look around it though.

how about the shower and toilet piping in that old building, frozen yet? haha no man this is pretty horrible, but there is a leak in the toilet plumbing somewhere so it is constantly running a little. I think I'll fix that after we go above zero. lol

man it's shoes, take off your shoes so you're feet are grounded better.. or put some shoes with special fibres in them to make them ground better (they exist, and are a class-a first world solution). finally found out this winter why I was getting all this static electricity, it is always out of control when you have freakin curly hair like I do, I couldn't touch any metal parts on my equipment, but this works. solid. I cured a first world problem. so proud.

we started with portaudio in dsp programming class. it's very easy to begin with, and works on almost anything. if you want something to get going, that will work.
