Don’t understand what people find appealing about what’s essentially a virtual analogue clock in a dedicated box. For 999,- you could easily get an iPhone 12 and enjoy way more added functionality, less restrictions, customisable interface, way bigger screen and arguably less menu diving. Plus you won’t have to worry about shit like timezones and daylight savings while touring. Sure you might get greater precision but as long as you show up who cares whether it’s 15:06:33333 or 15:06, plus no one can tell the difference anyway.
Dedicated timepieces are for the insta crowd imho.
I'm still amazed by the wording in this reply haha. It's like, the lines between talking about a synth and a fitness watch are mad blurred lol.
"essentially a virtual analogue clock in a dedicated box" flol
My favourite one is "while touring"

Well tbh my sleep improved immensely after getting the watch; it helped me to find a better pillow to lower the sleep stress value! The sleep statistics were pretty accurate and useful ime! Now im trying to go to bed earlier and more relaxed; im avoiding stress before going to bed (still playing rapid chess often before going to bed though but progressively less) and it shows in better heart rate variability numbers; hrv is 36 ms now and it was 29-30 before. V02 max is still low but i haven’t exercised much lately, i need to change that
ps listen to your lovely watch
nice, great to hear all that, thanks! So far, it definitely looks like there's some accurate data analysis going on.
You're right, I defo need to rest more

It's too late now dude . Initially I went for the Instinct 2 tactile solar black like the one @xox has, but instead I was offered a fenix 7 for the same price; black friday remaining stock apparently, brand new, from an authorised dealer. Also Joe Biden just sued Apple for smartphone monopoly.

do you really need the maps? for half the price I've bought a black Instinct 2x tactical edition and I'm satisfied with it
Nice, good to know, thanks! I don't really need the maps. To be fair, there's probably lots of features in either design that I won't ever use.

My request for the dedicated Ae subforum-ers who were around at the time is this: Can we put together all the material from this period in one thread? Who was around and remembers everything that happened? Sure we could go digging for the various threads and channels etc hosting this stuff, but why not put it all together in one place if we can?
You can find the mixlr tracklists here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XvL1KUvOOC3G1kwRujtb6sgx10MP--EMPG2mr_LOAv4/edit?usp=sharing
Keen to get involved in organising material, but preferably not in a forum thread ("was that important URL on the 67th page or the 193rd?")

btw, in the last 4-5 seconds of this clip, she starts waving her right arm along to the off-beat synth, then the bass drum enters on the beat, and she realigns herself to it.

there is nothing condescending or pompous about ignatius' "leave it for a year" suggestion, I am sure of it. It's what I also do when I listen to something I'm not "used to" e.g., I might play Bach fugues/sonatas on the harpsichord/piano, or Schoenberg atonal stuff, Nancarrow, Tristan Murail, Gerard Grisey etc, you get the point. After a few minutes I might think "let's leave this on the side for the time being". I'm not jumping into "i like this / I don't like this" conclusions, neither do I feel the urgency or obligation to formalise a judgement/reaction.

listen harder. there's patterns in there.
or just come back to it in a year and see if you have the ah ha moment.
just to avoid any confusion, even if ignatius' post wasn't for me - I was being silly in my previous post.
there are patterns in there indeed, and they are reproducible across the different live sets. The music suggests that the algorithms are very carefully confined so as to be specific yet offer interesting variations. What's amazing about this 2022 live material is how varying the dynamics also are; I don't think this degree of dynamics fluctuation was present in previous material. The intro is one evident example of this, and throughout the set there's an incredible amount of dynamic layering, causing me to shift focus from one sound to another. Ae have always been amazing when it comes to messing with people's music perception and cognition eh.
well said about the "leave it for a year and come back later".

I've been listening to the live sets plenty of times, and I've repeatedly caught myself thinking "do I actually like this, or am I listening to it just because it's Autechre?"
I was listening to that Bergen gig whilst running the other day. Got mad runner's high at that 38:40 moment. pendulu hv moda induces the same thing as well.
I guess exercise makes you focus a lot because of its repetitive nature, you get exhausted, and so you don't have time to think whether you like a tune or not lol.
Try it. Now (@_@)

The Bergen sequence starting at 38:41 is my favourite so far, the harmony is so good. Calm and turbulent at the same time.

GAS-Mask on The Evil bikes: Besides the already huge price I think the frame is too small for that price tag and could more easily snap.
Here is a guy had the frame snapped (Read also comments there are many people having same issues:
GAS-Mask on The drum set: Are you fit, skilled and in shape for drumming? We getting older and more bad in coordinate and muscle memory fades away.
It is better to get some drum samples my friendeek it snapped. Frames come in different sizes like S, M, L etc. I already have an mtb with a Large frame, and checking a couple of bike manufacturers, it looks like Large should be perfectly fine in terms of size. I met this bike trainer and authorised Evil bikes dealer who let me try his Evil Offering for a bit, it was insane.
Drumkit wise, I don't think fitness, age and skill should be a problem. The damn problem with it is how loud it is. I think I need a shed too flol
