  1. That piece was composed in 1980, not 2015. If we approached everything with this toxic mentality then a lot of pioneering electronic music (i.e., Pierre Schaeffer, or Brian Eno's ambient pieces) will nowadays sound 'lame', 'inadequate', 'dull' or what have you. You need to take into account the mindset of that epoch, as well as any technological limitations.

Are these mp3 tags from the purchased release? On discogs, no artist is mentioned, and someone suggests that these names are not true (in the 'reviews section) http://www.discogs.com/reviews?release=7808091

It's not Ae. The overall sound production is very different (this one's bathing in reverb and sounds quite muddy) There are "dub techno" chord stabs embedded into the rhythmic pattern that Ae don't use as such The track is too short and cuts abruptly, with very little development The glitched part of the rhythm isn't modulated as much but quite static, sounds harshly-edged and repetitive The intro utilises some hi-pass FFT filtered noise, with a very simplistic automation applied to it But "most importantly": The entire track has hiss, like a Basic Channel or Deepchord track I need braekfast

    Go Corbyn

Epic news. DJ Corbyn's first speech should be turning up with a ghettoblaster and playing DJ Vadim's The Terrorist.

  10. pissing off your audience is the weakest thing you can do That's quite a generalised statement. Neither the wee boys nor their parents seem pissed off in this context. What's the "strongest thing" then? making you forget your worries and laugh at the insanity of it all But that's like thinking of comedy merely as a form of escapism. I disagree with the "making you forget your worries" point. I prefer thinking that a comedian _reminds_ you of your worries/concerns (which are common to other people), but presents them from a twisted angle that makes you laugh and reconsider how you approach those worries. A comedian is also a satirist, someone using mockery/ridicule/sarcasm to attack social stereotypes, or to just exaggerate in a surreal way an aspect that someone may possess. The target is hardly the person, it's all about constructing witty wordplay and twisted imagery.
