  1. Yeah cubes are cool - looking forward to the cube series cryptowen. Your drawing invokes a menger sponge to me.
  2. Me too - working on it.. I put the frames together using a free online build-a-gif site, and that was the fastest option. At work I can hopefully figure out how to edit the frame speed in photoshop.
  3. I made this animated GIF using Excel: each frame was generated using straight-line graphs. Also, it's a stereogram. If you cross your eyes the column rotates counterclockwise (from above), while it's clockwise if you relax your eyes & stare through the screen.
  4. Saw some Svankmajer shorts early in the thread, but no-one's mentioned his version of Alice in Wonderland, "Alice" Full film is on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yK_ZKk0jc0I His version is essentially dialogue-free and very creative, especially all the stop-motion animation utilising skulls & taxidermy! Creepy but mesmerising.. one of my favourite films for sure.
  5. Wow, that last song is gorgeous! Gonna need to check out more Dettinger.
  6. Good call Aza on the Rod Modell - I need to get more of that guy's stuff, as everything I've heard is ace. Actually, pretty much everything on Echocord would fit quite nicely.
  7. Yeah he's still putting out music. I think the reason Skull Disco dissolved had more to do with him moving out of London (nach Berlin) than financial issues, though I could be wrong there.
  8. I love that "death is not final" track - be sure to check out the T++ remix too! Everything he's done is gold - his label (skull disco) put out the best shit.. before it folded :(
  9. I love all the albums I have - hard to pick just one! I guess Push Chairs has some of my favourite cuts on it; specifically Two of Everything and Kitten Development.
  10. Yeah I like the reverbed snap at the end of Gute Berg too.. but I can see how most would find it irritating!
  11. Project Y is definitely my favourite track on the EP, but it's all excellent!
  12. I bet it would still work very well in that respect!
  13. Loving the Kiat/Alley Kat samples - thanks for posting. Damnit, I want to go back to Hardwax! Best record store I've been to by a wiiiide margin.
  14. Yeah, check out pretty much any Ramadanman tune for that sound you're looking for - they'll all work! Pearson Sound is a Ramadanman alias - also well worth checking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMwEx2d3ItY
  15. I was watching a late-night sci-fi movie a while back and heard a line that was instantly familiar: it began with "you speak directly to me.. we are inseparable within time..." The sample comes from The Brain Eaters, a pretty average "brain bug" movie.
  16. No doubt! Although the 1st track on Pomme Fritz is on the same level for me. Rest of that album's pretty meh though.. Odd, I don't remember my CD ending abruptly.. how long is your Slug Dub track? Also, I have the 2x12" promo vinyl of Orbus Terrarum The cover is pretty bland - just a white sleeve w/ a sticker, but it's the music that counts, innit!
  17. Yeah, I love VVV's music! Got my copy of his Fortified Audio 12" a few weeks back and have been wearing it out ever since ;) He's actually a fellow Austinite, and a really nice dude too. I met him at the sammich shop where he works - I went in about 2 years ago and he was the one who made my food. Ended up talking about the music playing on the PA and he told me about his tracks (he was recording as The Solar Constant at the time). Didn't see him again for a while, until I started getting some dj gigs & there he was at the shows. It's really cool how quickly his name has gained recognition around the world - I think he changed his name to VVV a little over a year ago & now he has a vinyl release (more on the way soon) & worldwide respect. Much love!
  18. You cats should check this show - Cal Cutta (as Soothsayer is now known) always kills it! Sometimes I join him for the show too (as Sriracha). Just to warn you though, tomorrow Cal will be taking a hiatus, as the Dutch guys who go on before him need his time slot so they can broadcast during a festival. Next week though, tune in! Hey Cal, do you have an archive somewhere of uploaded mixes that peeps can check out? Don't have to be the latest/newest or anything, just something to let them know what you're about!
  19. Hey Autopilot - nice to see you back on watmm! This is sriracha in disguise, by the way So true - that album is top shelf! I especially love the tracks , The Horizon and . The Horizon is particularly amazing - this song makes me cry it's so good! T++ is killer - one of my favourites for sure. He's 1/2 of Monolake, for those who don't know.
  20. Yeah I just heard about that today - haven't listened to the samples yet though. I love me some ital tek!
  21. Damn Richy - you know the good tunes! I've heard that ramadanman tune on a mix he put out a few months ago and it's fucking amazing - cheers for posting that! Also a big RSD fan but don't know that song; will check it later.
  22. 2nd on all the Eagles hits... I nominate Night Ranger - Sister Christian (look it up if you have to.. I fucking dare you to!) Seriously, this has to be the worst "hit" song ever.. I mean sure there are loads of terrible songs that nobody has heard, but this shit still gets played on the radio!
  23. More cat pics! This is Louisa. She is obscenely cute, but incredibly needy. She can be dead asleep on the couch across the room, and if you get up and go to another part of the house she will somehow sense it and be forced to follow you in a few minutes. p.s. she's fallen asleep whilst being held like this <3
