  1. WATMM, I have done it. Now I have Konigsforst on 2LP. Oktember, Pop & Zauberberg, here I come. Already have the s/t, and I *really* wish "Oktav" was part of one of the albums...could be my favorite Gas track. Also, picked these up: Autechre - Incunabula (black vinyl, not silver!) Autechre - Envane (w/ Goz/Latent Quarter) Autechre - Anvil Vapre (w/ Second Scout/Scepe) Effectively bringing my AE wantlist down to: Anti 12" SpltRmx 12" Gescom - Gescom EP Gescom - The Sounds Of Machines Our Parents Used Gescom - Key Nell Gescom - This Ad Vanz vs Gescom / Foehn - Split Series #2 So if anyone here wants to sell me any of those, especially within the domestic US, I'd appreciate it.
  2. Proud to say I just picked up this beast in NM condition: Autechre - We R Are Why Also nabbed this for under $20: Main - Hz Other recent snatches: The Modernist / Bochum Welt - Eldar No Movement No Sound No Memories - Removed Soundgarden - The Telephantasm 7" Leo Kottke - 6 & 12 String Guitar Fela Kuti & The Africa 70 - Up Side Down Tool - Opiate Frank Sinatra - Songs For Swingin' Lovers Frank Sinatra - Where Are You (The version I have isn't on Discogs, it's a 4x7" set) Frank Sinatra - No One Cares (Same as above, mine is a 3x7" set) Frank Sinatra - Nice 'N' Easy Queens Of The Stone Age - Queens Of The Stone Age (Reissue)
  3. nice! a friend of mine gave me this newcomb a few years back: Yeah I am loving this machine. Seems they liked to build them like tanks!
  4. where did you find it? Just nabbed it on eBay! Also, recently purchased this : The 7 minute track on there is one of RDJ's best tracks ever, IMO.
  5. Panasonic. Yes. Panasonic is BEST. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z4iw8Ppo1o
  6. My most recent acquisitions have been: Syntonic Research, Inc. - Environments (11 LP set) Went on a big of a Voigt binge... Studio 1 - Silber Freiland - Orangerot Riss - Prinzipal Doppel - Galloppmusik Finally grabbed this. Already had Program 11 and Desktop Robotics, which I feel are all my favorites of his. Can rest easy on BW wax now. Bochum Welt - Module 2 Only paid $3 for this! Rhythm & Sound - Roll Off ...also bought myself this machine to replace my current placeholder Technics deck:
  7. Add me to the list of "fucking love Goodiepal" The Parl is a genius and a madman, both at the same time.

    knives

My inner OCD kept cringing while watching that knife test video - does the guy not know that just a foot away from him is what looks like a propane/air tank of some kind? One stray shard from anything into that thing and you'd have a much more interesting video...

    knives

stabbing package boxes is fun like popping bubble wrap! Would totally be following you there if 90% of the packages I received were not vinyl LPs...gotta have a tender hand with opening those!

    knives

Upon opening this thread I wasn't too sure about it. Then upon further consideration, my father always carried a knife and I'm seeing the benefits in getting a solid one now as well, even just to keep in the office/studio for mundane tasks. But then I'm not sure if my laziness would just take over and I'd reach for scissors like I always do...or worse yet...use my car keys to cut tape on packages...
  11. Nice! Welcome to the fold!
  12. What does that mean? All last year he's been fixated on this video on YouTube of a guy playing with a ham radio, and asking viewers "Where's the skip?" as there was nobody on the air to talk to. His "call number" on the radio was 28.400. This is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a7h71Azfcs
  13. Yeah, there was a pile of stuff I had intended to grab from him when I got some free cash to do so, but alas, that time never arrived. History always favors the winners!
  14. 28.400 style - now that's a genius way to put it. There's no skip, James!
  15. wtf 50? im seeing everyone of his releases around 200 and up, USD. Exactly my point - considering the usual market for Gas vinyl, that $50 is either an extinct listing, extremely dinged up, or (if you're lucky) from a seller who has no idea what they have. Esp. since Konigsforst is considered by many to be one of the best albums!
  16. Considering I dropped $40 on Autechre's Garbage EP alone, I would absolutely get that for $50.
  17. Practically speaking, yes. However much of the ripped stuff circulating is poor/half-decent quality, so those of us who are a bit more fickle about audio are probably willing to fork over the ridiculous cash.
  18. As much as I hate spamming, I thought about it and I think the Gas-heads in this thread would possibly enjoy this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sdk8oYvUgic While not specifically sounding like Gas, I took a lot of influence from Gas when I made it. Think Gas meets Casino Versus Japan, strung out on nitrous in the tropics, and you're there. Also, worth noting that Henry Mancini's "Theme From A Summer Place" is sampled really prominently in that piece, but good luck trying to spot it! /spam
  19. Well worth seeking out the first Gas album on vinyl though, despite the not-so-good artwork. Nearly all the tracks are significantly longer versions than the CD version, and the Nah Und Fern version of that one is REALLY edited (the opening track is a different track entirely, which is a shame because I consider that to be one of the BEST Gas songs) I've ripped my copy of the 3LP, and despite the noisy pressing (it's quite loaded with crackles!) it is very good.
  20. Man, big big thanks to the poster who dropped Dettinger - you just made my whole night. Absolute gold.
  21. The whole Freiland series is pretty consistent for minimal techno stuff too. A bunch of 2-3 track singles like Studio 1 but if you get all of them it's like a double album of stuff...
  22. I'm of the opinion that all three tracks from the extra 12" with Desktop Robotics are three of his BEST TRACKS EVER!
