  1. @Fletch, nice one, that's going to look sick. Snare Rush 6 was top notch btw ?
  2. Holy shit man, that looks like paradise!
  3. Ghoulish indeed ^ Kind of topic related; when I was in primary school there was a book in the library about ghosts that scared the absolute tits off me at the time and has been haunting my memory (sorry) on and off for years ever since; could never quite remember the name though. Imagine how buzzed I was to see this the other day: https://www.theguardian.com/books/booksblog/2019/jun/12/ghosts-shaped-my-life-out-of-print-childrens-classic-to-be-resurrected I was reading through the article thinking, "it's not the ghost book, it can't be that ghost book," but sure enough, that's the one that caused numerous sleepless nights; the mighty Usborne World of Ghosts. Lovely to read through the comments and see multitudes of other people were just as shat up by it was I was; will definitely be gripping a copy when it comes out.
  4. Going to do a deep listen when I get in from work, this'll be savage gear. Cheers Reg and Don!
  5. Haha, this is brilliant; sounds kind of Druqksy in places
  6. Two episodes into Chernobyl, excellent stuff imo; beautifully shot and scored In terms of theme and vibe it's basically Tomorrow's Harvest: The Show I didn't expect to like Fleabag because of the hype train but nope, it was brilliant and funny as fuck
  7. Nice! Meant to check in ages ago and say how much I enjoyed issue 5 but never got round to it. Pumped for the next installment!
  8. Watched Arcadia this evening whilst nursing a St. Paddy's hangover, thought it was top notch, some real strangeness in there (particularly liked the auld boy with the dowsing rod), tuneage was excellent
  9. Picked up a pristine copy of that translation of the Tain for £3.50 today, was in the window of a second-hand bookshop on my way home from work, has been on my radar since seeing it in here, lushness
  10. next: doubt i'll go beyond season 1 but already this brings back some great memories. Fondly remembered in Norn Iron for giving us this absolute gem:
  11. The trashy Altai echo box came today, been having fun messing with it. It's pretty terrible; it's designed for putting echo on karaoke vocals and shit like that, so the delay time is permanently set at 200ms; anything louder than a mic level signal makes it distort pretty badly unless you tread carefully. It's a murky, foggy bucket brigade box, and noisy af, but lots of fun for eight quid. Did a couple of demos:
  12. Had a £10 eBay voucher for some reason so went looking for cheap nonsense, found one of these and bit the bullet, with the voucher the total cost comes to a princely eight quid: Looks like an absolute flaming trash pile of a 'verb, can't find any demos, looking forward to seeing just how awful it really is
  13. Dunno if it's too old-school/classic for this thread but the new Priest album is excellent, just perfectly executed NWOBHM gear: Hope no-one's already recommended this, apologies if so
  14. I'd love to get over for that, looks class. Got massive respect for Philip Pullman, read HDM at a formative age and it blew me away, superlative.
  15. My studio's the attic room of my flat and it's one of those freezing-in-the-winter and sweltering-in-the-summer jobs. It's fucking roasting at the moment, actually had to buy a fan, something I never thought I'd have to do in Ireland. Today's the first day in a long while when the temperature's actually dropped and we're back to familiar pishy rain. Don't know how you guys hack the heat in the states. I have a few bits of kit for sale in a Gear Box thread that might be of interest to heads here by the way; Kawai XS-1, Boss DS330 and Korg DDD5 (sorry mods if this is spammy and/or frowned upon but I thought it might be of legit interest to people ITT and wanted to whack things up here before putting them on eBay for the general hordes).
  16. If any UK watmmers are interested in an Arizer Air, I'm selling mine; £130, in nearly-new condition with the original stems, case, charger, scraper, etc. I'm sad to part with it because it's a lovely bit of kit but I'm not really smoking at the moment so it's just sitting in my drawer and gathering dust and things are a bit tight financially; PM me if you're interested, happy to provide photos etc. Thought I'd post here before sticking it up on eBay ;)
  17. I lost out on a pair of Adam A3X monitors for under £200 on eBay, the last 10 seconds were a frenzy. Still a bit gutted about that one
  18. Canada legalises: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jun/20/canada-legalises-cannabis-senate-vote
  19. lol @ the Beeb's own valium service
  20. Made a beautiful batch of home-made sausage rolls, put them in the oven. Check on them 40 minutes later when they should be golden and crisp; the fucking element in my oven's broken and I have 3 trays of turgid pastry and raw sausage meat. Fortunately was able to stash them away in tupperware until the oven's fixed but fuck man, was really looking forward to these, was going to bring some on a hike tomorrow and all.
