  1. Oh man, what are those from? Or rather, what's the original show (because I presume those aren't the real captions) Lollin' hard
  2. And not even a steady diet of KFC and NYC pizza eaten with a fork has damaged his mighty circulatory system yet. Trump is the Keith Richards of shitty presidents
  3. Quite enjoyed this, about swing/groove/the human element, esp. in electronic music: https://www.ableton.com/en/blog/james-holden-human-timing/
  4. Someone can use my discount code if they like, PM me if you like. Would like to grip the vinyl but if I open the floodgates I'll blow my way through next month's rent, lol.
  5. Can't roll through the hood without getting disrespected: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/oct/29/hail-to-the-chief-cyclist-gives-trump-the-middle-finger
  6. Damn man, that's a legit problem rather than a FWP, sorry to hear that.
  7. Wait, porn videos have titles? I mean besides "hot asian takes two" or "twink vs bears facial compilation" Nah, that's precisely what I meant! (lol)
  8. I remember an American lecturer bringing an advert for some sort of drug, possibly an antidepressant, pulled out of a US magazine, into a class once, think it was a lecture on something drug-related. One side of the page showed your standard family-on-a-beach-having-fun picture and on the other side was a full A4 page of life-ruining side effects in tiny, tiny print. Hadn't really seen anything like it before and haven't seen anything similar from the UK or Europe since.
  9. CD came yesterday, presently having a deep listen, this is great shit. Stray observations: - I like that you haven't been afraid to leave in the hum at the end of Free Analogue. - Really like the liquid vibe of Uncertainty Pond - I love that fluting, rising synth line at the centre of Spirala
  10. I dread to think of the state of your farts after 4 softies
  11. I have been doing this come and go for about 3 months the past year, seeing a psychologist next week.. I need more drive in life... edit: also trying to get trough this whole thread for the 4th or 5th time I know everybody says this but beside seeing a psychologist you can try starting on meditation and exercise. For meditating I can recommend the headspace app, the first ten sessions are free but you can just start over at session one when you've reached the end. I've been struggling with ocd/depression/unspecified personality disorder and a bunch of addictions for basically my entire life and besides getting professional help those two things really seem to make a difference. Personally I'd start with the meditation, just give it 3 or 5 minutes every morning after you've taken a shower, no matter if you choose to spend the rest of the day on the couch, it's a start to something better and maybe a routine. Anyway, good luck to all of you. This is great advice; I'd also add that yoga is the bee's knees for mental health and mood, I would never have thought so before I got into it but it's like the perfect meeting-ground between exercise and meditation IMO. I started doing the Yoga With Adriene videos, which are super-accessible for noobs like myself and strike the right balance of approachableness and humour and general soundness. She doesn't ram stuff that might seem wanky/new-agey down your throat although when that stuff is introduced it is in a way that starts to make total sense (again IMO). Would definitely recommend it: Plus great for balance and toning up my rapidly expanding bellayyyy
  12. We should start a thread for this, I was thinking of a couple of these recently: 1. There should be a word for the sensation of total futility you feel after spending time getting a sheet or blanket perfectly arranged over a radiator, only to watch it begin to slowly slide off 2. Likewise for the experience of searching for a specific pornographic video you remember, without knowing the title, knowing that you will never, ever find it (more a feature of my younger days than now, I hasten to add)
  13. You know you've made a balls of it when Dubya calls you out: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/oct/19/george-w-bush-trump-bigotry-lies-coded-attack (Also, GWB's looking old)
  14. Listened to this this afternoon and bought the CD, gorgeous stuff. A world one can get comfortably and happily lost in
  15. I was messing around with the demo of the gorgeous Pianoteq plug-in lately; I'm not normally a VST guy but it's comfortably one of the most beautiful plug-ins I've ever heard, it really made me want to buy it and pair it with something like an SL88. Fortunately I was saved by my own greed by the fact that my computer can't really handle the processing, but still...
  16. Aye, I suppose the tapes, should they exist, would have to be of something on a whole other level. I remember during the election campaign when all the 'grab her by the pussy' and sexual harassment stuff came out and I was 100% certain it'd scupper his campaign. Ha ha. The naivety!
  17. Surely if anyone lost their job from releasing tapes, literally the entire rest of the world would be happy to chip into a Kickstarter or something to see them right, if it got rid of the orange beast?
  18. When'd you sell it? I got the XS-1 May or June-ish this year, I'd say
  19. My flatmate got a new job recently and moved across the water; this means my rent's doubled but on the plus side, I've been able to turn the attic room into a studio/chill chamber. Pretty much all of the gear is low-budget eBay stuff but there's enough there to keep me busy for the forseeable future; not suffering any GAS at the mo, just keen to spend more time up in here: Yamaha PSS-570 on top; the more time I spend with this the more I like this little thing. I find if a track's missing something or maybe needs a little sparkling lead line, this is the one: for whatever reason it cuts through a mix really nicely. It's super simple and immediate and can do some lovely FM weirdness. Old (pre-MIDI) Casiotone on the bottom; gripped this because it has lovely analogue drums that sounds very similar to stuff off old Cluster albums, which I love (there's a really good example of what I mean on this): It's an old beast but is actually capable of really interesting stuff; haven't had as much time to play with it as I would like, as of yet, though. Got a few new bits of kit on the desk that don't really show in the photo: a Kawai XS-1 and a Korg DDD-5 drummo. Looking forward to getting down and dirty with them. The comfy white chair is for sitting with headphones and doing deep listens.
  20. Sick as in a bit of a funny tummy or actual vomiting? Presently consuming some leftover chilli with baked spuds and an episode of Peep Show
