Halfway through Prey. It has its moments, but at the same time, some of the RPG-parts of it partly ruins the whole experience.
-Pick up shotgun? Not enough space. What if I drop a wrench, or eat some apples? Ah. Yes now I can pick it up. (so f´ing stupid)
-Need more ammo? Pick up lemon peels and baseball glowes or harvest flowers. Recycle. (aargh!)
-Constant hunt for mails messages, passwords and codes to proceed. A shitload of information, things to do, audio transmissions and whatever. I constantly forget what the mission are about, and I have no idea what neuromod upgrades, weapon upgrades or other upgrades i should go for.
There is just too much stuff going on.

New Pan American out today. Ambient with nice dreamy guitars. A pleasant listen.

Aaaah. Those were the days. Heavy rotation around midnight on MTV Alternative Nation. When it was released I just met this girl I liked. I tried to explain Aphex Twin to her, but she didn´t get it. I ended up marrying her anyway. I´m so old.

The Quake/Quake2 +extensions pack offers are really hours and hours and hours of fun for almost nothing.

It´s formulaic Four Tet. Personally I would like a more edgy and less "background-music" album, but it´s a pleasant listen. Fav track: 31 bloom.

Just finished The Last of Us 2. Great game. A bit slow on the story telling.

He’s free to release as much as he wants of course but somebody needs to sift through it all for the best bits and it isn’t going to be me.

The only good thing about this half assed, chopped up, chipmunk vocals and spraycan rattle collage bullshit, is that it made me listen to old Prodigy b-sides again.

Happy to see Bjørn Svin getting some love. Big fan of his two first albums, but Browen struck me as a bit minimalist and monotonous back in the days. Maybe I should give it a new spin.

I’ve had a love/hate relationship with PF, but I’ve visited the site at least a couple of times a week for twenty years. Pompous and arrogant, but gave a shit. Good description. I will miss it.

Interesting to see PJH mentioned on watmm lol... I was a huge fan long ago but she lost me with White Chalk. Was this any good? Stretches between albums seem to get longer and longer, last time I checked in it seemed she was more interested in writing/reading poetry than doing music anymore.
I love most of her stuff. As menyikoner by others, Let England Shake is very good. Hope six was kind of a letdown, but check out the track called «The Wheel». One of her best, IMO.

Out yesterday. Three listens, and I hate to say it, but a slight disappointment. On the positive side, it made me want to listen to old Biosphere records.
Fav track: Delta Funktion.

I started watching CYE two times but quit after a few episodes. Then I started for the third time, and binged the whole thing. You just gotta accept the CYE universe.
-
Quite different from his previous output. More uptempo, almost dancefloor friendly. Tribal dub perhaps? I like it!
-
Has CN said anything about the ambitions/difference behind his series? Halfway through this album, and it could be a Xerrox imo.

I just finished reading The Blood Meridian. What an amazing book. It makes me wanna start a third RDR2-playthrough and watch old western movies. But what are YOUR favorite movies/series of the genre? I would like somthings that´s still solid in 2023. I prefer gritty stories over hero stories.
I would also like tips about historic books about the whole American frontier era. Something like the Wiki-article with maps and illustrations.

Justified (original series). Three episodes in, and I´m totally clueless how this has a 8.6 IMDB-rating. The plots in the episodes are almost laughable, and especially the acting in S1E3 reminds me about the old soap operas. Surely this has to get better eventually?

Justified: City Primeval - Overall, this wasn't remarkable, Timothy Olyphant overestimated his ability to carry a show on his own, and some of it seemed rushed, especially the 2nd half of the season. But they did save the best for last:
Raylin was raising Boyd's child after all, saving Boyd til the end was the best idea Olyphant had, this series was presented as having nothing to do with the original Justified, so keeping this quiet was an accomplishment. Now they can get on to season 2, when the strikes end.
Should I watch the original Justified-series first?

I used to ba a fan but fell of the Aleksi train a long time ago. I just can´t keep up with 10+ releases every year. Are the releases under the same name connected in any way? Vibe, software, genre? If I live GAIA 15, will I probably like all GAIAs?
Fennesz - Mosaic (September 2024)

Fennesz will release a new album in september called Mosaic. I really enjoyed Agora and Senzatempo, so I hope this will be a banger. A digital single on may 3rd, and 20 year anniversary (WTF?!) release of Venice in June.
