  1. Does she not know that 90% of her listeners are cis incel dudes?
  2. Rewatching The Kingdom/Riget. I love it, and hope the last season is worth the 25(!) year wait. Also Tokyo Vice. I'll give it 7.0 on the pitchfork scale. Nothing groundbreaking, but touches on a lot of the things i find fascinating about Japan.
  3. New album out today on Mute. Atmospheric and dubby as always.
  4. Most appreciated: Rest Proof Clockwork and Double Figure. Least appreciated: Greedy Baby and Scintili.
  5. New Ben Frost album out. Dark Ambient with some field recording made for the film Broken Spectre, about the destruction of the Amazon rainforest.
  6. I think it's quite catchy. I don't appreciate all the tracks that much, but it kinda flows resistanceless into my ears. Happy friday tunes.
  7. Same. You are one lucky old geezer, Sean.
  8. Sean has moved to a village in nowhere, Norway. Amazing.
  9. EDIT: My Bandcamp-links were all messed up. Warp Drive Forgive all the mistakes Mikrohm is a mexican artist I discovered through Pitchforks recent article about Latin Ambient. She makes great music with a nod to old ambient techno like GAS, and early Warp (Black dog, B12). Check it out!
  10. Nono. Russell Haswell. Sunn was at a festival. One of the Haswell concerts I was buying a beer at the moment he started. The girl at the bar (employed because of her looks, not the interest for the concerts at the venue), stopped pouring and looked at the stage in pure terror. After ten seconds of "well, this is not going to stop" she shook her head, got her earplugs, and continued to work.
  11. Oh. Forgot EOD, Sunn O))) and three fucking Russell Haswell gigs. All of them warming up to AE and AFX and all terrible.
  12. Electronic(ish):AFXx2, AEx2, Squapreusher, Air, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Bjørn Svin, Massive Attack, Björk, Robyn, AsianDubFoundation, Mouse on Marsx2, Kim Hiorthøy, Kraftwerk, Satanstornade, Kaada, John Maus, Antipop consortium, Bjørn Torske, Jaga Jazzist, Spiritualized, Pantha Du Prince. Rock(+more): Trail of Dead, Band of Horsesx2, Dinosaur Jrx2, My Bloody Valentine, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Beach House, Belle and Sebastian, Swans, Black Rebel Motorsycle Club, Primal Screamx3, Bob Hundx3, Built to spill, Calexicox2, Cat Power, War on Drugs, Nick Cave, Manu Chau, Iggyx2 (one with The Stooges), Springsteenx2, The Roots, Dandy Warholes, Lemonheads/Dando x2, Sun Kil Moon, Danko Jones, Daughters, Feist, Jose Gonzalezx2, The Hivesx2, Iceage, Interpol, Jayhawksx2, Kent, LOW, Jason Molina, John Moreland, The Nationalx4, Future Islands, Patti Smith, St Vincentx3, Warpaint, Courtney Barnett, Broken Social Scenex2, Rammstein, Erykah Badu, MUM, New Order, Notwist, Pet Shop Boys, Travis, The White Stripes, Frank Ocean, The Black Keys, Afghan Wigs, Cloud Nothings, Mogwai, Sigur Rosx3, Okkervil River, Sonic Youth, Fleet Foxesx2, Cut Copy, Yeasayer, TSOOLx2, Mark Lanegan, Conor Oberst, Perfome Genious, Bon Iver, Grant Lee Phillips, Posiesx2, Public Enemy, Jery De Damaja, Josh Rouse, Royksopp, Teenage Fanclub, Tinariwen, TV on the radio, Velvet Revolver, Violent Femmes, Wilco, Wovenhandx2. ...and a lot of local/lesser known artists. Still annoyed that I missed Suede in 97, Mercury Rev in 99, and Plaid in 2000(?), all playing in the town I live in. Artists/bands I'd really like to see live: BOC, Plaid(!) and REM. I Guess Plaid is the only realistic happening.
  13. What tracks and why? (Have we done this already?) Andy Stott-Up The Box (Luxury Problems). The way this turns into an almost generic dnb-track is just terrible. It adds nothing to an otherwise great album. Aphex Twin-Produk 29 [101] (Syro). Track 3 after the brilliant start with Minipops and XMAS_EVET. It's just so slow and lazy with those annoying vocal samples. More like a b-side on a single. Huerco S-Plonk IX (Plonk). The album is such a great follow up and evolution of the vibes on Colonial Patterns, and For Those... And then it's this track sounding like some random stoner rapping over sub-par beats for seven fucking minutes. Massive Attack-Light my fire (Live) (Protection). It made a 10/10 album a 9/10 because of this shit. Why include a random live track to a studio album? Luckily it's the last track.
  14. RIP Jerry Lee Lewis and his great balls.
  15. It's decent IMO. Nice cinematic vibes. Blade Runner. Kuedo. But I wish he could build a track around fewer ideas, and just trust the atmospheres he builds up instead of the constant shifting and cutting in his tracks.
  16. @Johnny Hawk Will the old Rephlex releases be available on Bandcamp or streaming in the future?
  17. I haven't listened much to his Daphni output which is mostly house-oriented I think? Caribou is more idietronica/electronic psychedelig pop. Swim and Andorra are my favorites, and highly recommended.
  18. I think Barbican as a venue was great. I saw them do a set without lights in 2010 in a more traditional music venue. The venue had the bars open, so you didn't get the same pitch black experience, and with a "sloped" (?) floor and a lot of drunk people bumping around in almost darkness, it felt like a completely different setting. At the Barbican everything was pitch black, and the only thing I saw from my position was some ghostly distant spherical forms bobbing around behind the screens on stage. A dreamy and strange experience and like others, I had noe idea how long they had played. A fun thing; in the middle(?) of the set, a floating light made it's way to me. It was one of the Barbican staff who asked a guy who was lying down right in front of me, to find his seat. I had no idea. Also the description of ZF first set sounded like the description of the last.
  19. Worst hangover in years after yesterdays match. Now I’ve been building monentum the last couple of hours. Beers, steak and a few drinks. Stokes as fuk!
  20. Nils just dropped 3hrs+ of space ambient drones for you all. Wonderful soundscapes. 20 minutes where little happens (in a good way). Perfect music for work.
