  1. Binged season 1 of Happy! in one night. It was fun watching Christopher Meloni go pretty balls out with the violence and depravity after watching so much L&O SVU (shhh don't judge me). Just emotionally engaging enough to be interesting too. It felt kinda like a TV series version of El-P's Full Retard video.

    Season 2 is even crazier.

  2. Finished OA Part II. Well, I didn't think it was possible to go higher than 10/10 on the pompous scale...but they managed to achieve it. I thought the octopus would be tough to top, but man, that ending. I guess I have to give the showrunners props for completely going for it. I assume the audience has been completely weeded out at this point.

  3. STUART, Fla. - A forensic psychologist says a former college student believed he was "half-dog, half-man" when he fatally attacked a man and woman at their home and was found biting one of their faces.

The Palm Beach Post reports Dr. Phillip Resnick made the conclusion in a 38-page mental-health report released this week by the Martin County State Attorney's Office.

Investigators say they found Austin Harrouff, now 22, biting John Stevens' face while making growling noises on Aug. 15, 2016.

Resnick's report says the fact that Harrouff persisted in biting Stevens "in the presence of police officers, in spite of threats of being shot, being tased and receiving multiple kicks to the head, suggests that Mr. Harrouff was actively psychotic."

Harrouff's attorneys are preparing an insanity defense for the Nov. 4 trial.
  4. According to a new report, it appears that Tool have flown to Portland, Maine to begin mastering their long awaited new album with Bob Ludwig, who has previously worked with the band. Ludwig owns a record mastering facility in Portland, Maine, named Gateway Mastering Studios, Inc.

Interestingly enough, Of The Trees, a group from Portland, Maine, wrote on Facebook yesterday, “Just met Tool at the airport… .”

  5. oops.

TOOL singer Maynard James Keenan has shot down rumors that the band's long-awaited new album will arrive in April.

Asked by a fan on Twitter if it's true that TOOL's new disc will be released in two months, Maynard responded simply: "No."

Keenan's latest comment comes a month after TOOL drummer Danny Carey told a fan at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California that "the plan" was for the group's new LP to come out "mid-April."

  6. Artist Gabriel Shaffer, one of the friends of the band Tool, has confirmed hearing the group's new material "from start to finish," writing in a subsequently-deleted Instagram post:

"Still recovering from last night's hang in Hollywood at the loft. All I can say is I heard something from start to finish, that a number of us have been waiting to hear for over 10 years now.

"I can confirm it is worth every bit of the wait. The main question is are we worthy."
