  1. there are no resources in NK that amoreikkka needs save for eradicating the flow of nuclear/missile technologies proliferation to iran, pakistan, syria, the highest bidder etc. Exactly. We'll let them shoot missiles at us, that land in the sea, for a while. They may even be able to get away with taking out Hawaii before we start talking really tough. It isn't about 'talking tough' though. US, if there is any sanity in the government over there, need to think about trying to communicate with N. Korea in their terms. Though I know this may not ever happen, since the US government's standpoint on things when it comes to geopolitics is completely warped and corrupted. I don't believe there are many in the US government who truly care about human progress and having an overall social concern for people on this planet other than narrow minded, corporate interests (see Adam Curtis' films on the history of this). Simply failing to engage in productive conversation and resorting to sanctions upon sanctions will not do the job in sorting out the issue.
  2. I'm curious to know whether anyone thinks North Korea's attitudes towards the US and South Korea would improve if the sanctions being imposed on them are lifted? Does anyone think this is the best route to go down and see what happens?
  3. Untilted Oversteps Confield LP5 Exai Draft 7.30 Chiastic Slide Quaristice Amber Incunabula Tri Repetae
  4. vekoS is so close to the Untilted style - probably one of my favourites so far. As a handful of people have already said, it's a difficult album to get into - lots of depth, lack of cohesiveness/melodies/accessibility throughout a lot of the album (not necessarily a bad thing) - a lot of noodling about compared to their other releases. Just means it might take longer for the entire album to click with me.
  5. 6852 would not have sounded out of place if it were placed on Exai
  6. yep - I think this is another one of theirs that might take time to grow on me - and I have a lot of patience for ae so it's not a problem
  7. one of the stand out tracks for me so far. The main melody becomes darker and more daunting as the track progresses - love it.
  8. all of the previews sound excellent loving vekoS especially
  9. When do they typically announce a tour in conjunction with an album release? A week after album release?....
  10. If you take some large Ae traxx like Surripere or Nuane, you will notice that preceeding traxx (Tapr and Pule) were not really representational of the album yup. this works... Thank you. So do you have favourites by this moment? Considering the time spent with it and your high opinion on album. super duper feeling deco Loc right now. Bladerunnerlores, tuinorizn, T ess xi are superduper too... deco Loc has the sickest vocal sample is that the monomachine voice synth sample that you were referring to before on the deco loc track? I don't own a monomachine but I assumed the voice synth on that things sounds just like the 'speak and spell' speech synth, which you will recall was all mangled up over some of the Quaristice/Untitled live sets? e.g.9 mins into Glasgow live set.
  11. On an optimistic side note - Since Quaristice and Oversteps were released approx 1 month early prior to the original release dates anticipated by Warp, there's still a possible chance of Exai going down the same route. Question: Was Quaristice leaked online 1 month prior to its estabished release date? I don't recall this being the case but it was so long ago now. I'm just trying to work out whether Warp only release early based on the pressure of a leak.
  12. are you referring to the segment in that liveset which has elements of 'Steels' all over it? Or the segment prior with the catchy melody? I love the catchy melodies on that Quaristice live set.
  13. @pixelives How is the album shaping up now you've had quite a few listens to it? Would you say it is one of your favourite releases from them or too early to tell yet?
  14. I think there was enough ambient output from them on Oversteps/MoT so I personally welcome an album that is primarily beat-driven but with plenty of ambient textures going on in the background.
  15. I think we're all interested to hear some more of your thoughts on the album. Does Exai closely resemble Oversteps or any other recent album? There's bits of Untilted in some of the beat fuckery, Oversteps lushness in pads, hints of 90's color and timbre. But done in a way that seems contemporary with production techniques of the more recent work. Big beautiful reverbs, etc.. Some very interesting twists and turns in some of the tracks so it is very far removed from the Quar linear jam type thing. Sounds excellent - almost like a mixture of elements from previous albums. But does it sound like a totally new direction though, just as their other albums have differing musical directions? Do you think ae have once again innovated their sound? I know the answers to these questions will be subjective but I'm still curious.

  17. I would instantly purchase the Quaristice soundboard recording - that live set is excellent amongst their other sets.
  18. The reason Sean gave for not putting out any live set soundboards for sale is because they didn't want to look like they were "milking it". I remember him saying that in the audio interview done around Quaristice period.
