Do the BPMs sync up? Or at least rather close? yes many have confirmed this in prior pages on this thread - i don't have a clue myself.
-
it's likely Metz is on there for the following reasons: - track 2 is roughly the same kind of length as the full length live recording here - - the sound/style is not unlike the manchester track - we know that usually when aphex plays unreleased stuff in his dj sets, they end up getting a release later e.g. with the tuss tracks being played for some time before official release - it's too fucking good to be left out of a new release from him. sounds like A LOT of time was put into the track. very detailed and intricate from start to finish.

When did reach for the dead get air time on radio prior to the official release date? Wasn't it like a month before release date? Surely radio stations will be all over this, playing at least one track sometime soon from Syro.

richard did not deny to joyrex in their private messages that Metz/Manchester tracks won't be on the new album iirc, joyrex mentioned people loved these tracks and asked about a new release, then richard just said new shit is imminent.

If it is a faked image, he spent quite a bit of time doing it - and if it's a digital composition, he has excellent skills. so you are not 100% sure whether the image is official?
-
no one even knows the source of that image - some random member stepped into the thread who has been registered on watmm since '08 and only has a handful of posts to his name decides to upload that image to an image file hosting site and share the URL. Maybe this isn't a relevant concern if Joyrex thinks that the barcode is important, but it doesn't seem like the deep web page and this new image we have are related or interlinked in some way?

that would be a cool concept - some kind of sci-fi aesthetic, without the apocalyptic theme. though I wouldn't be surprised if they go with a totally different kind of concept on their next release.

Aphex Twin The Caustic Window LP (CAT023) Kickstarter FAQ - LIVE NOW!
Dale replied to Joyrex's topic in Aphex Twin
there is always the possibility that Richard could remove some of the tracks from the release if he doesn't like them (considering he wrote them many years ago). I don't recall the Kickstarter listing how many tracks come with the digital purchase.- 2,656 replies

I know it's all personal taste, and I'm not trying to change anyone's minds, but what is it about this album that people feel makes it superior to Geogaddi or MHTRTC? The concept behind the album very much drives the tracks for me. I like the concept they went for a lot. They got the ambience spot on for the whole 'societal collapse' thing they were going for. Geogaddi is definitely a close second best though. But it doesn't get as many plays as TH. I reserve Geogaddi listening sessions for spring/summer. TH seems to playable all year round for me - hence why it comes out on top. Yes I'm one of those weird people who associates certain albums with seasons in the year.

Exactly - they created this kind of story - a very subtle narrative during the promo which was a lot of fun to follow. I enjoyed it a lot as well. Not many people do this kind of thing. Most people like narratives they can follow, or some kind of concept that can be understood behind a body of art.

I think that if you can relate to concerns over societal breakdown, and understand the perspective and aesthetic they took with the album, it might resonate more with you. This is the BOC album I have been waiting for since Geogaddi. I really liked this album's direction; the sounds (especially those swirling pads in Nothing Is Real + Palace Posy) are just so lush. Nothing Is Real has to be one of my favourite pieces of music ever written - the melodic hook repeating throughout is so catchy and has a nostalgic ring to it. Cold Earth is probably one of their most 'epic' tracks in terms of the percussion and energy it has. Very satisfied with the album overall and gets regular plays pretty much each week.
